Than u monekameghan even I agree that simply doing those petty things do not make her a good RP.. She got to prove her worth... She got to prove that she would stand up against anything bad done whether ts done to her or anybody else...
As anu said even I think that the creatives can make this track into a positive one by making Radhika Shastri, the weak and submissive women to die and re-borning her as Mrs. Radhika Dev RajPurohit, the strong lady after she meets Kanha face to face...
The first sign which she can show of being Mrs. RP would be that she tells Dev the real story behind the fire and exposes the criminal, Amma so that she can be verdicted (This heinous crime needs to be punished out not only b'coz it was to take away her life but it even included killing other people's emotions like of Shastri ji, Dev etc... Moreover in this fire many others could have been caught also other than her like Visakha did and would have got hurt for no fault of their's.. So she should expose Amma not b'coz she tried to kill her but b'coz the crime committed by Amma was unpardonable this time)
If the creatives show this track then I am sure that this time our Rads would not let go of our Dev easily come what may in the PB.. She will fight for him even if the doctors confirm that she cannot conceive and would not allow Visakha to sleep with DEV

I feel that non-confession was a better portrayance of strong love of Rads for Dev. If she would have told him that then according to me it would have been the selfish side of Rads rather than a near death confession to get rid of her guilt. The whole year when Rads was fit and fine, she did not care to tell him the truth (even when he was being humiliated by everybody or was doing the Kshama Vrat where his life was risked) but today when she is burnt more than 50% and her body is in completely dishevelled form (and nobody would want to look at her also forget about accepting her in his life)she cares to tell him that as she feels guilty... It is ridiculous !!! This confession would have added to the misery of Dev, though he would forgive her but it would be like pressurizing him to be attached to her, to be with her, to look after her, to spoil his life with a girl who is disabled and cannot serve him properly (whether he wants to do that or not).... Even if he wants to move on in his life with some other girl who can serve him and love him properly he would not beable to as his wife Rads is alive.
Though Dev would be feeling guilty an would be enduring pain that he was never able to marry Rads, never able to make her his own but that pain would be short lived if he found a good life partner... Telling him of the truth at this time would be like stabbing Dev right in his heart (betraying him) and ruining his life as u tie him off to u if u come alive...
If u love a person very much, u want a better life for him and to make sure of that u r ready to endure all pains and that's what our Rad's did and asked him to shoo off rather than confessing.. U weren't called his wife when u were alive what fruits would u achieve by getting those rights after u die... So its best to stay mumb at this point and let the dark secret remain in its closet !!
Hope have not offended u !!! Just my Views

. Not at all offended , why should I be ? These r your views and you have every right to express them as feelingly as I did with mine . Besides , dear , these discussions r hundred times more enlivening than the serial right now . That said , I would like to differ with you on certain points here . Although the perspective that u put forward has a point...........it cannot be applicable in Radhika's case anymore as things have gone beyond a certain level now . Yes , what u say can be felt by a normal girl , in a normal kind of love marraige or a perfectly normal kind of love marraige . But nothing about this story is normal . The marraige was not normal , Radhika is not a normal gal but a badly abused one , Dev's love for her is not normal but phenomenal , and the atrocities she endured ...........the switching of brides and now getting burnt are absolutely not normal phenomena. Had she been a normal gal who was pretty before marraige , had a love or arranged marraige with a nice guy and was just finding out about him like they showed in the movie Vivaah ......and she had got badly burnt , these fears , these insecurities arising in her mind that now with her disfigured face and figure she will merely latch on to him and make him miserable are perfectly normal .........they r , in fact , the post trauma reflections of a burnt victim . .
But in Radhika's case her love story is an old story . If anything has come clear as water from this love story by now it is the fact that Dev is crazily in love with her and cannot survive without her . The ordeals he did for her were not what any normal engaged guy would do ........neither would a married husband do them , for that matter . The Kshama vrat where he almost died for her..........would even a married man do that ? The blunt answer is NO . Yet , Dev did them , and all through the year , this girl silently stood and watched him give one horrendous test after another for proving his love ............including have the guts to leave his mother inspite of being a RP of a very conservative brahminical society where he would have received a lot of flak for it . After all those tests , his courtship , his vachans in the tempole , most importantly that horrifying Kshama vrat , if you are telling me that this simple message that he loves her soul not just her body has not filtered across in her brain..............even her dad the Shastri has understood it by now and has commented to her that she is very lucky to find that kind of love , if that message has not been comprehended by her , she must be a very dumb girl indeed .
When would this message finally get to her .........if Dev had given up his life ? For that is what this extreme insensitivity and dumbness amounts to ..........understanding only after he dies or something . Which he almost did , btw , in the Kshama Vrat . Kshama vrats r not done by people who have the hots for a body .........one truly has to love the spirit within of his paramour too . This much even the Turbaned Mustachio gang of the Panchayat will figure out inspite of being ignoramuses. And Radhika still doesn't . It is laughable. Even now , if Radhika feels that with her burnt body what sukh , what happiness she will give Dev she really doesn't know Dev , does she ? The Kshama vrat then had no meaning in her eyes..........coz she equated it with Dev doing it all to get her well proportioned , healthy body , capable of bearing kids . And if she inferred this , then her understanding of love always has been pretty shallow , right upto this point .
Everything is not about her her and her alone . Had she died without telling him the truth , he would not just be devastated.........he would live or die with an unecessary guilt on his conscience that he could not fulfil one of the most important vachans that he had given her...........of making her his wife . That is the only thing that mattered to him and she as a lover knew that very well . Would her soul be happy up there , leaving him guilt ridden on the earth ? She made him live guilt ridden during his lifetime [ for being married to Vishakha which had not really happened] and she made him live guilt ridden even after her death would have been the scenario . 50 percent burns means she knew very well she may die . And when faced with that possibility she opts not to tell him the secret and keep him wrought with unecessary guilt for life only because of her shallow comprehension of love that with my burnt body i would be latching on to him...........so either i should shoo him away and make him miserable or die without telling and make him miserable does not really show Radhika in a pretty light , does it ?
Why did this happen in the first place ? This whole burnt thingy ? No , not simply because Amma is evil . It also happened because Radhika constantly shielded that evil . Abetting evil is as big a crime as doing evil itself . Why did Amma get this bold enough to go to the extent of burning a human ? Had she been curbed at the outset this would not have gone to this stage . But what happened was , Radhika , with her stupid , misplaced sense of values went on shielding one atrocity of Amma after the other . Why ? Coz she was her ' Ammaji ' and " Jis ghar ne Aasra diya , Use main kaise dhoka doongi ?" Amma went unchecked because of Radhika alone . She silently watched her getting bolder and bolder by the day , doing one nonsense after the other . Even the acid mehendi cone did not make Radhika speak up . That was warning enough that Amma had begun endangering human lives . That she needed a serious check . But for Radhika evrything is about her alone . She , Radhika , was ready to forgive the cone incident too . Jaane Do , Chod Do . Arre but it is not going to stop here , this evil . She will kill anyone who comes in the way of her Vishakha .......perhaps her bahuriya too . If Radhika dies and goes to heaven without telling the atrocities of Amma , it is perfectly possible that after Radhika
s death she will turn on that person who next is the greatest danger to Vishakha. Like Mrinalni for instance . Amma is perfectly possible of going to PB , plonking herself there with her rosary and chubby face and secretly poisoning Mrinalni's dessert ! Why , she had the guts to go and search that house for the photographs............see her audacity ! And whatever Mrinalni is she doesn't deserve this. Neither does Devki. Nor do any humans who cross Vishakha if at all Radhika dies .
The point of keeping secrets for personal obligatory bonds or personal comprehensions of love is far gone . Letting Amma loose on society is highly irresponsible social behaviour . At this point she should tell Dev how Amma switched brides , forced her and also how Amma burnt her . Both these secrets led to societal harm .and are intertwined , there is no escape now . These secrets should be told not just to obtain Dev's forgiveness [ even that point is far gone now ............whether Dev forgives or not is hardly important any more] .........these secrets should be told due to a moral and societal responsibility of not aiding evil any further in case more damage is done .
Forget being Rajpurohitain and all .........what she needs is to seriously organise her conception of values which is highly misplaced and wrong . Those misplaced sense of values led to this tragedy , not just Amma's evil . If she goes , with the same idiotic set of values to train some young kids who come to her for advice as a Rajpurohit's wife , she will endanger them too , as she will teach them to forgive evil , let it go unchecked , and to ' keep secrets' that cause pain . This is not just ridiculous , it is dangerous too ........look where she herself landed . , Facing the truth , squarely in its face is the true test of a human being ..........once he realises that running away from it will only ensure it following me lifelong , he has to , at a point , turn and face it . If that point does not come even Radhika's death bed , she is unfit to be a Rp's wife . This may sound harsh but she is still keeping secrets from Dev.........both the switching of brides and the arson , only to shield Amma ............not for any other reason , but those same misplaced sense of values that she stubbornly and idiotically believes in .

Kools:
Very well written. That's a good point. In our society, we punish murderers and other criminals not because it is an eye for an eye, but to stop them harming more people. The serial started with Amma cursing Radhika, but becoming worse as the story progressed and she realized that Radhika can get all she wanted for Vishaka. Dev has told Amma clearly that the proposal was meant only for Radhika. So, a rational person would assume that a proposal from such a high-class family wouldn't even be there for Vishaka were it not for Radhika. Vishaka got a lot of opportunities by going to this family. In fact, that is the only reason she got to Mumbai. But, Amma has become irrational and dangerous because of Radhika, Devki and Shastriji - all forgiving her or giving in to her in name of respect for an elderly person. I wonder why Shastriji did not learn from Dev. He applauded Dev for having courage to leave his mother, but what about him. He was so apologetic that he let Dadi insult Amma and he tolerated it because he was girl's father. That was really bad as Amma humiliated Dadi in her own home. Dadi is so classy that she held her tongue and didn't throw them out of the house forcibly just because of Radhika. So, in some sense Radhika's misplaced values are a result of her father's misplaced values. He has shown some growth by standing up for her more than he did in the past. But, he still hasn't faced all the truth about his own mother. In fact, it is kind of interesting that he wants all sorts of vachans from Dev in protecting and loving Radhika, but hasn't done anything himself.
Saying all that, Radhika has now seen the ultimate proof of Dev's love (not that it was in any doubt after Ksma vrat). So, the real growth would be if they have meaningful conversation between Kanha and Radhika. However, that is not possible as all the tracks were written by these creatives. So, they have written Radhika's character in such a way that everything is justified in their eyes. So, they will show a conversation where Kanha tells Radhika that she was burnt as it was a test of her devotion. When have gods especially Kanha been that vengeful. All the stories we have show that he is especially kind to his devotees starting from Sudama, Arjun, Draupadi, Meera, Soordas etc. Also, Geeta the essence of Hindu religion talks about fighting for good even if it hurts your loved ones. I really hope that our letters make some dent in creatives' mind and show Radhika's growth in Amma's getting punishment track. It is a social responsibility on creatives' part too to give a message that a girl should not be quiet if she is being burnt. This is a really really important message for Indian society. Don't give a message that for the sake of your family you should keep quiet if people in your family are doing wrong. Suppose Amma is a traitor to the country. Will Radhika keep quiet to save her father's honor or will she report her to the authorities? This is a crime and needs to be punished by law, not by Panchayat or RP. Their punishment could be supplemantory to legal punishment.

Actually why3 ...........all the arguments made in Radhika's behalf will become baseless after she keeps quiet even after Dev applied the sindoor . The sindoor took only one second ..........before the sindoor she didnt confess , nor will she after the sindoor . What is that rasam going to establish anyway ? It is merely a ritual , Radhika was married to Dev by her heart and she should have found it unbearable to leave him wrought with unecessary guilt if at all she died . If the sindoor emboldens her , fine , it will be at least some relief but I will feel that her conception of love is highly ritualistic........no brains and heart there at all .

I agree totally with what rainabow said that she should realise that she has shielded and fought for the wrong persons all her life...........Vishakha is perfectly capable of taking her own care and so is Amma . It is Dev who needs her protection and loyalty , he has unseen enemies , one being sadly his own mother . Those enemies are plotting against him and constantly wishing him ill . Somehow Radhika doesnt even note this . She noted that Mrinalni was Vishakhas secret enemy and warned Vishakha about it . But she seems to be indiffrent about Devs welfare . Vishakha mattered to her so she noticed it . Vishakha has always mattered more than Dev .

It is kind of interesting that Radhika's way of showing love has always been ritualistic. Dev has never shown to be too much into rituals or society's norms, but shows more with action. He is not afraid to show his love to Radhika even in front of Shastriji. As far as Shastriji is concerned, Dev loved Vishaka first and so from his point it is awkward to see that Dev moved so quickly towards Radhika and is in fact much happier. But, Dev is not concerned about that. Since the marriage proposal from Shastri family, Dev started believing more in Kanha and became more devotional. He did Ksma vrat and now this parikrama of Govardhan Parbat. Similiarly, they could show that Radhika is learning from Dev and demonstrates her love more by action which does not include running after Dev's car to give him a gift, but be protective of him.
It doesn't seem that Amma will go to jail anytime soon based on tomorrow's precaps, but eventually once she moves to PB, she needs to be more protective of him than she ever was of Vishaka. Unfortunately, they will show the proof of her love is that she allows another woman to have child with Dev, hence proving her greatness. On everything else, she will be totally oblivious. Really, this show can still get back on some sort of track by showing that Radhika recognizes Dev's enemies and does everything she can to foil their plans. She can take help of the rest of the good people (Vivek, Birju and Daadi) in PB and make sure that Chacha's and Mrin's plans are not successful. Now that she is publicly married and accepted as Dev' wife, there should be no more loyality towards Vishaka, Devki or rest of Shastri family. But, this kind of tracks will require growth on writers' part and I am not sure if they are capable of doing that when the whole interest is in short-term TRPs. Actually, people remember those shows where the characters were written very well and story was well-etched rather than these run-of-mill soaps.
