Oh wow. I still dont understand why he's called "eloquent". He has no idea what he's talking about, most of the time. Like Rox said, "talking out of his arse."

ha ha comical purpose😆
umm no,i cant watch kurbaan simply because i aint an adult🤪,and any ways i m not in the support of showing "asthetically " shot scenes, just because its important ot the movie being "real."..blah..!!..dont tell me u cant show a real movie without skin show..!!
but if given a chance,i dont think there's any thing wrong in going to watch that movie in the theater if u r not too conservative about your thoughts about religions..for sure,new-york as a story line was crap, but its wrong to generalise india as a maker of stupid movies on terrorisms which offends any random person in this country for no visible reason.i think every director has different sensibilities, and they shouldnt be judged on how their comtemporaries have done...let their work speak for themselves..!!
m sure if rensil is an able director he might have done well with the story, atleast i hope so ,the reviews r good any ways...
one more thing ,if we just hope tht india goes on making the candyfloss romantic types.then we rent going any where, for india, which makes about 400 movies every year, the recognisation it gets is pretty less, and for a world wide recognisation,we need to go beyond the normal movies and let people experiment, otherwise we will lose the genius people as well..i mean look at mr shyamalan ,we wouldnt minded him being here, would we..?
i m certainly not gonna steriotype all terrorist movies made by india as crap just because new-york and fanna were crap.
not talking too much about karan johar and k3g since i havemt seen it ending till now,nor have i seen dostana yet😈

I agree - there have actually been good movies on the subject of terrorism so far. Mumbai Meri Jaan, Black Friday, Dil Se and to a certain extent A Wednesday deal with that theme. They tackle the subject in different ways but are all well made films.

I have also seen Khuda Kay Liya which is a Pakistani film and I think it is one of the most interesting and well made films on this subject (not just from Pakistan or the sub-continent but a good film period). I would say the same for Black Friday which tells the story of the 1993 blasts so dispassionately yet it is a gripping narrative and presents all facets to the story. Of course Black Friday was focused on one particular event and real people being brought to screen so it could avoid certain problems that came with characterisation in New York.

I don't want Bollywood to stick to candyfloss romances and I think there are directors who can handle different subjects and make films that are just as good as anywhere else in the world. But these films need patrons and people need to go out and see them for these directors to be successful and continue making interesting films.

Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Dev D, Luck By Chance, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Mithya, Dasvidanya, Manorama Six Feet Under, Kaminey, A Wednesday, Welcome To Sajjanpur, Ek Chaalis ki Last Local have all come out in the last couple or years or so and I think they are all well made films that tackle different genres, themes, narrative structures and certainly are not candy floss films.

I too have apprehensions about Kurbaan because it comes from the Dharma stable. But its unfair to say that no one in Hindi films has attempted and succeeded in doing something different. There are plenty of other examples that I can't recall right now.
