Jyoti has 2 reasons for opposing it, and I understand it, even though I don't agree with it. One is cm's opposition - as a member of the Vashisth family, Jyoti doesn't want to welcome someone who isn't welcome, particularly by the person who would be closest to her as a result of the marriage. The other is that having put up with cm's insults and harangues, which sometimes reduced Jyoti to the same state that Sudha is often in, Jyoti, for Sudha's own good, doesn't want Sudha to get cm as an MIL.
But Jyoti does need to realize that whether or not Uday has a right to Sudha is completely independent of Sudha's relationship w/ Jyoti herself. Similarly, KK, for all these months, put up w/ Sushma's marriage to Brij, and Sudha marrying Uday wouldn't be anything even comparable. Not only is cm no Brij, but within the family, there are others who'd protect Sudha - Uday, Pankaj, MN, Gayatri, whereas Sushma had no-one to protect her from Brij. Also, Jyoti & KK may want that Sudha not suffer an MIL like cm, but Sudha is an adult, and if she is willing to put up w/ cm out of her love for Uday, she should be allowed to do it. In fact, both families are being unfair to prospective spouses - be it from Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Chittor, et al by offering Uday & Sudha out there, when they clearly have feelings for each other. I really want these phantom rishtas to end, and Uday & Sudha to marry.
I dunno what to make of yesterday's precap, which showed Uday offering to Minal to marry any gal of cm's choice - that would be tremendously unfair to any such gal, who'd really be nowhere in Uday's love. I really hope they reconnect Uday & Sudha quickly, as shown in the promos, & actially marry them, instead of making it yet another teaser. Let cm, Jyoti, KK and Padma deal w/ the fallout.
