Gunjan-Character Development?

Okay....this is mostly for all gunjan fans...

Well, out of the four lead characters, Gunjan's is the one which has had little change in her character.
More than that Sanaya herself has expressed a wish for some sort of change in G's character...

So what sort of changes would you like to see in G....without taking away her original innocence and naivety and shyness?

I liked the little teasing she did with Nupur in yday's epi..when she was trying to do that nautanki naatak...like nupur does....I think sanaya managed the "trying" part very well....because Gunjan wasn't as nautanki as Nupur is...yet still a hint of that nautanki was there. I also liked that the CVs showed her caring for Nupur, for a change, too....earlier they used to show Gunjan only saying "samrat samrat samrat"...but during the whole Nupur-mayank fiasco...she tried to support Nupur best as she could...so that was a welcome change. It could show her accepting some responsibility over her elder sis.

I wuld like it if, in some scene, she gently reprimands her dii, if Nupur is wrong somewere....or advises her somehere down the line...because Gunjan is supposed to be the "deep, contemplative" thinker and such people generally have a good amount of native wisdom in them. Well, that would be an interesting scene to watch. 😉

I liked that change....Gunjan needs to loosen up a bit..she is so serious and is the most prone to crying....it would be good to see her engaging in some humour....

Also, she is someone's GF now..so how would that affect her....

So what do y'all think?

I'd love for Gunjan to become a little more confident during her scenes with Samrat. I liked that bit where she pushed him away after huddling close (after he said something about a ghost). That's the Gunjan I'd like to see - generally shy, but a little more open to romance when she and Samrat are alone. Because of her excessive blushing, sometimes a lot of scenes only have Samrat making the first move while she mostly shies away. I'm not particularly a fan of those moments, lol. They can't keep showing that forever - kabhi na kabhi toh progress honi chahiye. I want something from her side too. She could initiate a hug, a kiss on the cheek or simply a flirtatious line. Sure, she's an introvert but SG have known each other for over a year and the creatives could definitely add some spunk to her in terms of the Samrat-Gunjan romance.

I agree on Gunjan reprimanding Nupur. The former character is wiser, while the latter on is more impulsive. It makes more sense for Gunjan to be the one dishing out advice to Nupur instead of the other way around.

What the creatives could also do is give Gunjan a new wardrobe. Long skirts, t-shirts, kurtis, scarves, etc would be nice. And to this day I can't fathom WHY they use a wig for Sanaya. I preferred her own hair in Fanaa to the wig in MJHT.

ya really atlest one development ill like to see in gunjan is that she starts to fight and stop being so giving to people who are not even worth it i.e.sheena....

Hmmm.....that will take a lot of time I think to happen. Because if SHEENA couldn't make Gnjan snap back...who would??? 😆😆😆

@bold- Loll...as much as I would love for that to happen...I don't think so..because Nupur herself took such a long time in initiating a kiss..so I shudder to think how long would Gunjan take!!! 😆

And I have been always of the opinion that there should be more positive lead characters who are dressed up in western clothes..come on most of the shows are in Mumbai..where the dress norm is jeans and tee
In MJHT, only Dia is shown that way...but she isn't exactly a lead lead character is she? Plus she washalf negative when MJHT started out..

G and N have come from a smalltown,agreed but they have been in the city for an year...time for them to atleast wear some western clothes?

well, i m a HUGE gunjan fan right since day one..and the things that attracted me to her were her sensitivity, innocence..and shyness...yet, the fact that she can stand up for herself whenever need be..and her innate belief in herself n her principles..even though she is low on confidence...apart from the usual caring, loving etc..

and I can say that the shee-na phase had completely destroyed THIS part of gunjan...and she had acted as if the only aim in her life had been 'samrat'... however, ever since she had gotten her love back..there has been this tremendous change in her...and u cud see that in their date..it was the first time I met wit a new gunjan..and found myself liking her...

while returning back from morena..going into the bus, sam tried in vain to call her but she wudnt budge saying tht she wanted to make sure tt her sister was ok..and then ofcourse when she actually comes to kno wat her sis is goin thru..the way she scolded herself for not noticing before..well, all that was real..because now gunjan was no longer the person 'who cud never commit ne mistakes',..she had committed one..and she was really sorry abt tht..however, gunjan is the kinda person who when realises that she has done something wrong wud take 10000 fold efforts not to do any such thing again..so I guess v wil get to see more of a gunjan 'who will NEVER do nething wrong" now..

coming to samrat, and her relationship wit him...wel, their date wa a perfect example of the way she is opening up to him..she initiated the hand holding..and that was how I expected her to...during the confession..she spoke out her true feelings..and then initiated the hug again..coming back to their date, she spoke out how he had fulfilled her incomplete dream...and then the slight teasing on the bike..I jus loved that one...the again, in yest's scene when he kissed her palm..she was a bit apprehensive, given she is a shy character..but yes, in the future..I'd like to see her initiate a peck on the cheek..and I think she will!

she is not giving in to samrat's every demand..if she is not comfortable in a particular situation, her eyes show..however she doesnt speak it out loud..yet, if samrat questions abt it...she does not hesitate to answer....I guess physical bonding will come a lot later for her..because everything is new for her..but I loved how she is getting to kno abt his family..and jus loved how she still wanted him to "come and talk to his best friend no matter watever happens"...

so I guess the development of her character has mainly been WITH samrat..he has brought abt the most change in her..n will continue to..and she will always remain his strength too!

ok first of all, i think weve seen a great change in gunjy since her and samrat got together! ive loved watching them.. well do anyway lmao but that scene and everything after was extremely cute.. gunjan was shy bt at teh same time was joking and teasing samrat so i really hope thsi continues and shegets even more confident about the jokes!

Funny, I never liked Gunjan when the show started - she was typical cry baby which I most detested. (Before you start throwing shoes, let me clarify - I saw exactly two episodes and stopped watching). I didn't watch MJHT for ages and what brought me back was the same Gunjan and how the most cliched, hackneyed love story of stud boy meets timid shy girl had changed into a such a different and poignant love story which actually felt real. What hooked me to Gunjan were the scenes where Dia tells gunjan about the bet, Gunjan, hurt to the core, hides her feelings, carries on with the exams and with helping Samrat because she will not break her promise and the best - the way she breaks their friendship after the exams. No shouting, screaming, sobbing - that Gunjan was amazing - quiet, yet strong, unbearably hurt by someone she had learned slowly to trust, yet dignified to the core even after what she saw as his betrayal.

I think we lost that Gunjan completely during the disastrous Sheena track and that's the Gunjan I want to see back. She had a strength of character at that time, which the creatives completely forgot when they turned her into a weeping willow. I think that Gunjan is slowly coming back, I loved the last few episodes including the date episodes where she initiates all their talks, be it about remaining friends or the family talk, and the little bits of teasing and masti. She always had low confidence, and the months and months of the 'being in love but it's not returned' destroyed it further - hopefully now her confidence levels should go up and it would be a great way to bring about a gradual change in character.

She is starting off a bit now - most of their hugs have been initiated by her, if you notice and they've all being meaningful and within a context of some strong emotions - they haven't just been random. But yeah, I want her now to start being more confident with the rest of the gang now as well and showing more of her intelligence and maturity there as well.

have I been rambling? 😉 Oh well ... 😆 really do love this girl! shall stop now !!!
