Anyone else feel awkward about SanRaj?

Acha, ladies, please don't jump on me, but I just had to bring this up.

I love Santu, and DM for that matter. Do I think they are cute, sure....romantic...why not?...sweet...absolutely, endearing, you betcha, HOWEVER.....I have a problem.

I feel awkward watching their scenes! Its an odd thing for me, because I am usually pretty apathetic, and plus I was born and raised here in California, so you would think that Indian Soap Opera romance wouldn't be a big deal. But for some reason it is!

I don't know if it is because of their age, or the fact that they way Santu is portrayed is more like a lost child as opposed to a women? Or its the blatant dominance. I just don't know!

For example the whole paint spill scene, it was cute but I was watching it with my mom and I felt weird watching it with her.

This has NEVER happened to me folks, because the romance in these shows is so innocent and simple, its not vulgar or indecent or anything along those lines, and I cannot fathom why it makes me feel odd watching DM and Santu be all lovey dovey.

So, just wondering if anyone else feels the same?

From the reactions I have seen so far, I don't think anybody on the forum feels that way.....infact we are all ecstatic with yesterday's developments. I absolutely love the SanRaj pairing and I absolutely loved the romance in yesterday's epi.....saw DM in this new avatar for the first time and finally felt that he sees Santu as a woman and not a girl which is what we had been complaining about for so long. Although there was nothing overt, but the romance in the scene was quite evident and I will even go so far as to say that for the first time I felt that DM feels some lust for Santu.......it was in the way he looked at her when she started cleaning the paint off him.....maybe thats why you felt a little uncomfortable watching it with your mom😳

Well, see that's whats funny. I am super happy that they are getting cuter and all that...I was relived that DM had something in his eyes when looking at her, and maybe your right, Ronit Roy is such an impeccable actor that his emotions are so real, and the same with Asiya, I suppose for a second it felt like someones real life moment as opposed to a soap opera.

Funny how simple actions can evoke so much more the provocative ones.

DM made that whole scene soo speciall.. AWwww!! Both were too cute.

Since I watch Bandin by myself, I am free of any "someone watching behiend me" issues.. hehehe But yeah, maybe you are right. Even i was taken aback when i first watched it. I guess it kinida caught us off-guard!

I absolutely loved their romancing. Also the part where Santo wraps her Saree wrong and comes to DM and he notices it and tells her to wait till their honemoon. Awww! That was simply awesome. I jumped out of joy for Santo. Also when she came back to the pooja with the Saree wrapped correctly, how DM teases her, simply an awesome scene. 👏 Hats off to Ronit Roy for doing it perfectly. 👏 I wanted to simply hug him for that. 👍🏼 He has totally accepted Santo.

Only now that lady has come back and calling herself Subadra. 😡 Wish someone would just zap her out of the show 🤢 🤢 . I want to see more of DM and Santo together.

no not really ive got to say that im from the uk..simliar to you born and brought up in the uk and i understand what you mean about the difference between what is romance in an indian soap opera oppose to and english one although i dont really feel that way when i watch it just because the creatives seem to add a humerous moment within there and you know that any second dm is going to make a comment which will be funny...but even there romance i dont feel arkward about it althought i dont know maybe my views will change in the future...

do you know what? i think we should stop discussing the age difference i didnt find ANY of the SanRaj moments/scenes awkward
i think the script writer/director over did the way Santu wore her saree wrong a lil too much
she should have just done it the way Champakali showed her too, not wear the whole saree inside and show the petticoat
i mean, even someone who DOESNT know how to wear a saree or has never worn one in her life would not wear it like that! 🤣

I do understand what you mean and you were feeling uncomfortable because you were with your mom, trust me it happens to me when I am watching an english show and there is a bedroom scene and you don't know if you should change the channel or just watch it!
