Degrading the position of Women.

Creatives of this show are portraying women as inferior , weak & miserable creatures who knows only crying
Sunaina is portrayed as a helpless wife , who have no guts to ask her husband what exactly is his problem. Creatives are not trying to give her any effective dialogues. Not for once she ever tried to convince Omi.
Can a women remain silent , when she comes to know that her husband is divorcing her after so many years of marriage, just for some stupid reason?
Can't she defend herself? 😡
And I am so much surprised with one thing that
How can a husband gets detached from her wife & maintains a kind of distance from her , when wife is trying to please his parents , risking her own life for their ( husband's parents) sake? 😲
Whether it's Akshara ( in their most famous MU Phase) or it is Sunaina ( current track) or it's Varsha (Rajshri track) can't all of them speak their heart out?
All of them starts crying or became silent as if someone has given them 440 volts ka Bijli ka jhatka

To some extent the truth is that women remain to be weak. But not all women are the same. sometimes when women open up , it lands up in a worst situation, but when the situation is worst already, the she definitely needs to speak as in the case of sunaina.
rajshri was always a weak character.
I was surprised by the way varsha is trying to change & the way she behaved when rajshri demanded a grand child. I never thoguht she should be doing something like this when her husband was not supporting her!
Akshara is from a conservative family but not like singhanias. both the families have their own set of binding to which akshara needs to survive

It was so stupid of Varsha to behave like that , when Shaurya was not supporting her to have a child right now. She was also portrayed as helpless and takes to crying as the only solution for her problems😡

Great topic. Over the last two days, I have been trying to figure out if there is even one "positive" female character in YRKKH. Daddi was shown as being quite broad-minded before, and now all she does is cry...Rajshri and Sunaina have always been spineless...G ma was cool in the beginning, but now is too concerned with what others think, B ma, affectionate but clueless in reality.

My biggest concern is with the portrayal of the younger women: Varsha is supposed to be smart (both academically and otherwise)--then why did she internalize everything related to the baby dilemma and kaka-kaki? How illogical to think that the same thing could happen to you? And frankly, prior to SR1, I had no hopes for Akshara...even now, she only stands up to Naitik, which is understandable as she is a newly wed in the house. But to cry buckets when doing it...almost makes her points have no meaning...Nandini's character is disabled, but has a mind of her own. Yet, she was not allowed to finish her education--why? Disabled people don't go to college? Why can't she work with her dad and uncle? Rashmi is about the only one who is "normal" in this serial...she goes to college, understands the newly weds, seems to have certain freedoms...but I am sure its only a matter of time before they degrade her character as well.

Honestly, after Naksh's wedding I was hoping that they hone in on the progressive differences between the Singhanias and the Maheshwaris: that on the one hand Varsha goes to college, is encouraged to do so...while for Akshara its a uphill battle. I did not anticipate this baby talk and kaka-kaki illogical side track at all. The creatives should think of the younger audience and the fact that they are being INFLUENCED. Women do not get married to work in the kitchen all day, have babies, and cry all day...

i so agree they are just poking fun at women and its really bad...

all they show is babies and what to cook .... as if that is the only thing in life ... I mean we ourselves in this forum young working women and college going ladies, how many of us can relate to the leading leading ladies or any one else in that houses??? I'm sure none....... this is heights of friction and they need to touch base on reality.

Unless they have set up the story on 1700 AD.... which i highly doubt.. coz Ash and kartina were not live then lol......

Neways nice to know that few ppl just dnt follow it blindly .... if not this forum is only abt ..... Aww Akarshra looked beaitifull... she cried today ... awww so sweet naitit touched her.... and blah..blah !

I agree with u Anjali and all the points u mentioned..but we must understand that this is not the universal truth ! actually this truth varies from person to person........a working woman, a married working woman, a housewife, a working mother, each have their own set of problems...yrkkh is a story of just one family..whether we relate to the characters or not depends on our own surroundings...

see i agree young minds are influenced but at the end of the day, we must know where to draw the line ..reality is reality which everybody has to face..and fiction is fiction & it should be taken that way...if we say that tv soaps influence us then what about other mediums? we share our thoughts with our family, friends..we have TV, we have bollywood, we have International TV channels at our disposal.........the ladies gossip everyday , we hear all kinds of diff. stories frm diff. ppl. about their experiences of married life, they also can influence our thoughts in some way ...but then if we don't filter that info, then tht's our fault....our society in India is progressing......and a tv show can't take us back to the stone age..if they can influence us that much, the fault lies in our thinking...

All of you have valid points reg. women condition in the soap...but at the end of the day it is just a soap........they need such melodrama for their business....and i don't think anyone is influenced in their thinking by such tracks...at the most females are influenced in their superficial things like i rem. the diamond mangalsutra which everyone had in Ekta's serials was a huge hit in the common women too....

They are not here to teach morality but to make some money... so just enjoy guys and take a break when such stuff is shown which you all don't like....i do the same😆

Great topic guys... when I am watching this serial, it transports me to my childhood when I used to visit my grandparents house. My grandma never sat with grandpa to have food, she would eat after everyone has eaten, her whole life was geared towards food, making pickles, papad, getting ready for festival, or some function etc. and also all the polictics of the household.. what dil is doing what, what happened in someone's house etc.. grown sons asking permission to go to movie with wife, going out to eat was sacrilige, even to the point that both me & my brother's name was picked by my grandma!!!
My mom watches with me and says it brings back memories when she was a bahu.... fortunately for her, my dad was in army... so didn't stay with in-laws the whole time...
