October 07, 2009, (Sawf News) - South hottie Asin must have very good reasons to refuse a dream role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Farah Khan penned and helmed Happy New Year, but no one can fathom it. Asin was offered the role after she appeared on Farah's talk show, Tere Mere Beach Mein, but despite her initial excitement, she declined citing date problems. In the past Asin has publically expressed a desire to act with the third Khan (Shah Rukh), having made her Bollywood debut with Aamir Khan in Ghajini (2008) and followed it up by romancing Salman Khan in London Dreams. When asked what governed her choice when signing films, Asin told Mumbai Mirror: "The most important factors are script, character, director, producer, co-actor - in exactly this order. While selecting a role, I completely rely on my gut instinct." No one is quite sure at what point in her selection sequence she dropped Farah's film, though we can be sure it wasn't at the end. Other potential candidates for Happy New Year include Priyanka chopra, Deepika Padukone and Kareena Kapoor.

The film is scheduled to start production by year end.

Asin's PR is working overtime this last week.I guess it is because her lone hindi film London Dreams is releasing next month.

The heroine of HNY whoever it is already finalised,I am sure.Top heroines need to keep their dates free,they are so busy.If indeed the film is going on floors as early as December.

My wild guess is that Gauri Khan will present the cast at the grand Finale of HDIL Couture week and get all the media attention.. away from Salman's show😆

Asin says 'No' to SRK and Farah!
By Vickey Lalwani, 8 October, 2009 Asin had a dream start with Bollywood as she bagged films with two Khans - Aamir and Salman. She was very vocal that she wanted to work with the third powerful Khan - Shah Rukh. Funnily, when she had the chance, she turned it down!

A few days ago, Farah Khan offered her a role in her next, Happy New Year, which stars Shah Rukh Khan, which is slated to go on the floors by end of this year.

Asin took her time to mull over the offer, consulted her father and then sent word to Farah that she won't be doing the film. "Ever since Asin appeared on Farah's show Tere Mere Beach Mein, they have been in touch. When Farah offered her the role, initially Asin was quite excited. It is not known why she refused Farah's film," says a source.

The polite way to refuse, of course, is to cite date problems. "She conveyed that the dates which Farah needed would be clashing with her other assignments," revealed the source.

The latest is that Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have set their eyes on the female lead in Happy New Year. Kareena Kapoor is also in the race. Asin's loss is someone else's gain. It will be interesting to see who bags the role. Considering how sought after Farah is, it is indeed shocking that a new actress in Bollywood, turned her down.

if it is nt a new girl, then it hs to b any1 between deepika , priyanka or kareena.. lol.. very obvious becoz srk and farah both share gr88 frndship and rapport with these 3 girls :)

i know how u feel ...she already signed khelein hum jee jaan sey naa ?may be thats why she's not doing this movie ,i would have loved to see her with srk as well.

bt wot so yaarr KHJJS...shooring is starting in nov can't understan this?if u r saying that khjjs shooting is starting in nov talso happy new year will start more or less at the same time thats why she's not doing ......yes i think so too. btw i think this whole month she'l take rest n promote LD
