The sibling of the special child - Abhi
The intensity of love that this child has for his sister is as much as his parents have for her. I dont think it's any less. The quickness with which he defends her is admirable......whether it is taking the blame for her or putting someone in place for speaking rudely to her.
He is concerned about his sister and constantly questions his parents about it. In the past fortnight: ~
1. Will Antara also get married and go away?
2. Why does Arti bua not like Antara?
3. Meekly takes the blame for Antara ( and takes a severe punishment from his mother just to protect her)
4. If Papa can sacrifice for Arti bua why can't I? (Takes the blame for her regarding the mobile with Sameer's father) 5. I wont eat since Antara will be hungry. Who will feed Antara? (when Angel is lost)
6. Who will look after Antara if she is sent away since her mum is with the stars now. (yesterday's epi)
7. Why dont people understand Antara and her condition?
Antara is sometimes rough with him and pushes him away. But this little child never retaliates like the instance when she shoves him and he falls. He doesn't cry.
Of course, he also wants his parents to show love and pay attention to him. If he feels they don't, then he sweetly reminds them. Like when he sits on Vidya's lap and she tells him the next time she will be there when he wakes up. Like when they compliment Antara on how pretty she looks, he asks ...what about me? But no tantrums.
He has taken up Antara's cause with outsiders.
1. Taiji ---- puts her in her place when she verbally and physically abuses Antara. He doesn't understand anything about protocol.... he just knows about love and loyalty.
2. He loses his temper and makes his displeasure apparent to Billo. He gives a cold shoulder to his best friend.
3. Always escorts Antara everywhere giving her dignity and a place of honour.
Thirdly and most importantly, he has achieved what his parents and educators have hitherto failed to achieve. He got his sister to dance on the stage without any formal training, without any flashcards and without the interference from the adults. And in turn, she has responded beautifully to him. It was so heartening and touching to see the two of them.
*A thunderous applause for my little heart throb*
One thing I would have loved to see was the admiration in the eyes of the parents for both the children. The creatives bungled there. Adit and Vidya are sensitive to both their children. It would have made Abhi happier (and the viewers) to see them acknowledge his stupendous efforts.
Its rather a long post and thanks for the patience of reading it through. 😉 😆
