You can photoshop anything.

The way I perceive it, curbing photoshop enhancements is curbing art form in some way. You may curb it in public magazines and billboards. But on the internet anything and everything can be photoshopped.

Photographic expressions do not form social conditioning. They are the result of social conditioning. In times of famine when plumpness was a sign of prosperity, fine arts depicted heavy set and even obese men and women as desirable. Even in todays times when such retarded appearances are high fashion, there are counter cultures that depict otherwise. By curbing a representation of people, you give it undue weight and importance. The real way to address social imbalances instead of curbing one is to encourage the counter cultures that portray a different message.

That's the point.

I'd say its curbing that expression of art ,which tends to give out wrong meanings to the general audience, for the better of the society.

Yup, but curbing them would also signify that the society did find the need of changing as the way it was conditioning was not perceived to be correct by part of the society itself- which i think is a positive sign.

There are three choices- encouraging, being indifferent or discouraging - to be made regarding such situations. You can't encourage it for obvious reasons, you also can't be indifferent to it as it is affecting the society big time- so one has to discourage it ! I don't think that would be giving undue importance in this matter.

Curbing one and encouraging other can give better results.
