 A sessions court today directed the Arthur Road prison authorities to administer medical treatment to actor Shiney Ahuja, arrested for allegedly raping his maid, and shift him to a hospital if required, after he complained of acute back pain.Ahuja, who was produced before the additional sessions judge SR Trivedi, came into the court limping and taking the support of two police constables. Once seated inside, Ahuja clad in a grey t-shirt and blue jeans, started crouching and was seen wincing in pain because of slip disc. Ahuja, who was in tears due to the pain, was later brought outside the courtroom and made to lie down on a bench. The 36-year-old actor, had to be flanked outside in a semi-conscious state by the constables as he was not able to walk. Ahuja's lawyer Sameer Nagare then filed an application before the court asking that the actor to be sent to state-run JJ Hospital for medical treatment. "Ahuja has a history of slip disc and has been undergoing treatment for it," Nagare said. Ahuja's wife Anupama and his parents were present in court and remained by the actor's side till he was taken to the Arthur Road jail, where he is lodged since his arrest on June 15 this year. Ahuja has been accused of raping his domestic maid at his residence in suburbanOshiwara on June 14 after calling her to his bedroom on the pretext of getting a glass of water. When the maid went inside, Shiney bolted the door and raped her, she had alleged. The court will hear the arguments of the prosecution and defence on the framing of charges against the actor on Oct 7. The court today rejected the application filed by Ahuja's lawyer on September 23 seeking copies of the forensic reports of the actor and the victim. The charges could not be framed that day as his lawyer Shrikant Shivade claimed the DNA reports of the accused and the victim did not match. Ahuja had earlier this week approached the Bombay High Court seeking bail after the sessions court rejected his bail plea twice observing that there existed prima facie case against him. The police had on August 13 filed a 109-page chargesheet against the actor accusing him of rape, wrongful confinement and intimidation. The chargesheet consisted of medical reports which indicated Shiney had sexual intercourse with his maid.
