I didn't want to win any beauty pageant: Deepika

Model-turned-actress Deepika Padukone says she always wanted to carve a niche for herself in the glamour industry but without participating in a beauty pageant, unlike many of her colleagues.

"I had set up an objective to become a model without winning any beauty pageants, " Deepika told choreographer- turned-director Farah Khan on STAR Plus' "Tere Mere Beach Mein".

But the actress didn't give any specific reason for her aversion to taking part in beauty contests.

A lot of Indian actresses including Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen, Celina Jaitley, Lara Dutta and Dia Mirza joined Bollywood after earning fame through national and international beauty pageants.

She'll probably win every beauty pagent since she's so gorgeous and has an amazing personality.

Oh wow....you said exactly what I've felt all along. Her diction is horrible. She needs to improve big time!

I am a fan of her dancing and she is very radiant, but I wished she built up her personality, no? She is way too diplomatic for me. But then, I don't want her to act like Sonam. 😆

Deepika would've won all beauty pageants miss world and miss universe without a competition....hehehe it would've been very easy for her to enter that way.

But this girl is so lucky that her first ad became international and made her a supermodel. And her first hindi movie made her a superstar. She's talent, with brains and beauty to match.
