Yes we might not boast or impose things in the name of tradition. We have more liberties but we do know our limits. Limits come from knowing self and trusting that your parents trust you. This bond of parent-children trust make our relationship more open and friendly, that way we can tell our parents freely what we feel and they can advise us what to do and what not to. We dont have to secretly do things. When things are imposed on kids, they rebel like Varsha. I have seen people coming from India who have not been given any liberties back at home, get totally over-board with cultural shock and drown themself with drugs/drinks etc.
And to be honest, i know many teenagers back in India, behaving like Good KIds but secretly wears mini shirt and have premarital sex, drink and do drugs. If you dont believe me go to disc as college going people. So plz next time before writing anything think 10 times.
Yep!
thats totally true...not only for kids coming from india
but any kid who lives in a protective enviroment, once the person gets a bit of freedom they get crazy!
LOL just talking from experience...my cousin's parents were veryyyy protective. His mom would buy him stuff like xbox and psp but never let him play em. never let him go anywhere, etc. And when he started to go to college he started to change A LOT..now he drinks and does drugs and all that..he was actually one of the most religious people i knew!
its normal behavior of anyone who experiences change and freedom
