Ok this is a very funny situation I came across from personal experience .. and I'd like to ask all of you.
Photogenic - I am just not talking about looks of people. I am also referring to beautiful landscapes captured in photos. Photogenic means somebody/something that looks attractive in photographs. It's often a compliment.
But - say if somebody comments "Oh you look so different in your pictures - you're photogenic" 😆 - Is that a backhanded compliment or disguised insult?
Or when people go on to say "OMG - is it the same beach we went to yday - It looks so good in the pic"
Ok ok i know- it's a very superficial thing to debate about - coz it involves looks/beauty, which is highly subjective but I am curious to know your replies - what everybody's point of views r on this.
1) Most people tend to look better in real life as opposed to pictures as they have their strong personalities to balance out their looks. So then, is it an unfortunate thing to look better in pictures than in person? Or it's only good for, in certain professions ?
2) Do you agree that all photos are just a way of capturing what is there already ?
3) Would you think people are indirectly trying to put you down when they constantly say "you're photogenic" instead of "you're beautiful" ?
4)Is it true that what appears great in real-life will appear as great in photographs too? And vice-versa?
