There is a lot of girls screaming "I love you Sharukh". How many guys scream, "I love you Katrina"? I haven't seen that many around. This forum is filled with girls and a lot of girls praise actors more than the actress. In general the people to appreciate the actress for the most part are the guys, and give them Katrina Kaif walking in a short skirt they will be whistling for life. Besides, I also think guys are more interested in cricket, and they will sit glued to the TV screen watching cricket match, rather than watch a movie.

That is my assumption. I think girls support actors more, while guys support actresses, hence actors have more demand.

Keep in mind htat Golmaal Returns also did really well, and that partly coz Kareena was promoted in the middle of all the publicity. She was center on all the posters, her item songs were being aired for the movie, she even featured heavily in the dialogue promos, but in reality she wasnt that much in teh movie, lol

Families go out together to watch movies dont they? If only young girls made up the masses, than Shahid woudl sell more than Srk or Aamir, who are much older actors.

I think there is a crowd of the masses,a nd they do go for actresses like Kat, and Kareena.

Like if you go out in a general family gathering, quite a few would say, lets go out and watch a movie with Rani, or Kareena.

Though it will be rare compared to Srk, Aamir, or Akki.

But apart from those top 5 actors...no other actor commands that kidna fan base either.

I guess my opint will be proven with Karan's remake of Stepmom.

Now that's a movie that will have the masses running to the theaters, and it has Kajol and Kareena. THe actor in that sense wont have much to do at all, Arjun Rampal.
