Shanky waits for permission from Annamma to take Nandy out.
Annam is still angry that Nandy thatti parichified Suma's
chance. Shouts at Nandy that she can not go out with Shanky.
Nandy takes her aside and pleads but Annam makes sure to
raise her voice so that Shanky who is waiting outside can
hear all the archanai. Nandy comes out and gets to see the
back of Shanky's car. He obviously heard every word and
left - Nallavanakku azhagu sollamaal Odarathu - he did just
that. Nandy is very upset. Shanky goes home and Kalyani sees
him. Immediately knows that some thing is not right. Probes and
comes to know that Annam refused permission. Kalyani pacifies
sonny boy - " i should have called and asked for permission.
Annam is old fashioned, athaan ... do not bother about all that.
Now, you want to take nandy out, avvalavuthaane??? I will
organize, ok?" Shanky is happy.
Jeya comes back from shopping. Annam is folding clothes.
Jeya goes in search of Nandy. Sees her all upset. Comes to
know that Annam was mean to mappillai. Decides to confront
MIL. Goes to Annam and demands to know the reason for
such mean behaviour - " Nandy is so upset. And how can u
talk like that to mappillai??" Annam says " un thangai kashta
patta unakku thudikkuthu illiyaa??? athu mathiri thaan.. Suma
vai vendam nnu sonnavan avan... My 'birth given tummy " is
burning...." Jeya also shouts back and finally Nandy drags her
away _ " pesa pesa things will sour akka, vaa.." Annam waits
for sonny boy to come.
Dhuriyodhan Sakku and Saguni maami Mangalam - manthira
aalochanai - raani durbar. Sakku is upset that all her efforts to
stop the wedding have failed. Saguni amma says " by now, u
should have brought that house under your thumb... never mind..
I will tell u how to stop it.." Sakku's dad is watching TV but
has his ears glued to his wife's mouth - suddenly shouts -
" ava soonya kaari..nalla irukkira kudumbathai pirichuduvaa..
ava kitte do not ask for advice..." Mangalam decides to see him
"one hand" - goes and shouts - must have studied in the same
college as TMS Bhagyam - rubber mouth and semai Tamizh
vocabulary... Finally hubby says that he was commenting on the
serial he was watching. Manngalam warns him "inimel comment
adikka me paaru, illatta kizhichu thoranam katti duven..."
Continues her sathi aalochanai with Dhuriyodhan - recalls that
Annam was equally upset during the engagement. Tells her
daughter that she will work through Annam and stop the marriage.
Sakku is skeptical but Mangalam says " Mangalathai nambinaar
kai vida padaar.."
Nandy household - annam is still fuming about Shanky rejecting
Suma. Jeya and Gopal are quiet. Suma and Nandy are outside -
drying clothes. Suma consoles Nandy " my mom is still sour
about Shanky rejecting me..so apdi thaan pesuvaanga.." Nandy
is worried about Kalyani's reaction. Suma says that Kalayani is
more mature and reasonable - " she wont mistake you... wait and
watch... she will be here to see you ..soon..." Well Kalyani's car is
heard... Kalyani gets down..... all look surprised.
