Suman Chatterji (born march 16, 1949), is a Kolkata based modern singer, songwriter , guiterist, poet, journalist, tv presenter, and occasional film actor. Since may 2009, he is a MP in the lok sabha having been elected from the Jadavpur constituency in Kolkata on a trinomool congress ticket.

Along with his musical contributions, Suman has always held strong political views. He was a journalist in Nicaragua during the revolution and wrote mukto nicaragua (liberated nicaragua) . Suman is the only artiste from the sub-continent with whom Pete Seeger performed in two concerts. He was a radio journalist in Germany from 1975-1979 and in USA from 1981-1985
