Recently we have noticed that actor Aamir Khan has done movies, which have patriotic inclination. Say it fate, coincidence or intended approach, his last few releases are somehow based on patriotism.
His performances in the movies like SARFAROSH and LAGAAN was critically acclaimed and also received lots of appreciation from the masses. Aamir, known for his perfect conviction towards his acting has done justice to these movies. In the movie SARFAROSH, he portrays the role of sincere and courageous ACP who hunts for the root cause of drugs-terrorism trafficking amid India and Pakistan, whereas in LAGAAN he portrays a self-righteous village boy.
Besides these hits, recently he featured in the most hyped patriotic movie MANGAL PANDEY – The Rising, where he portrays the brave martyr sepoy - Mangal Pandey who triggered a revolt against the British in India. Striking the patriotic feel, the movie was released on 15th August, 2005 – Independence day.
Tracing the same success story from past, this year RANG DE BASANTI is slated for a 26th January – Republic Day release, yes one more national day. Unlike MANGAL PANDEY, this movie is about awakening, a youthful life and drama in Delhi covering all trials and tribulations of the capital, yet with a serious note in the climax of the film.
In the view of his previous success for patriotic movies, let us hope that RDB hits gold at the box-office on national day.
