After 60 years of discriminiation and persecution, Muslims in India are among the poorest and most backward. There should be reservations for muslims in education and in the private sector. This will also be a safeguard so that Muslims do not have a reason to indulge in terrorist activities.

Why single out only Muslims? Every single individual owes the right to be educated and treated equally like others. Having a special reservation for a particular group would prove that group to be the different one amongst all others, and in that way, it is a tad bit more discriminatory and unfair. The aim shouldn't be to provide reservation for groups that are lacking in civil rights, but rather to provide a system where every groups can coexist harmoniously, and treated equally. Quota reservation is going to be counter-productive. Why should we be going backward?

In the near future..I think if you are travelling in a bus, train or in a plane, these politic brutals will reserve a quota in bus or train too..that is if you are in a bus comprising 50 seats...they would say 27% for OBC, 69% for minorities, 33% for women(this is acceptable though women are active in all the fields than this %).

There are helpless people, can change their religion for the sake of livelihood. This bloody idiots say they are religion part and they promote reservation based on religion. There in AP/TN also reservations are proposed for Muslim. They are encouraging for dividing of the country, encouraging civil war. KICK THESE IDIOTS WHO IS STILL ENCOURAGING RESERVATIONS. I am ready to sacrifice if reservations are eliminated for the sake of Great India. You can refer Azim Premzi's comments....... Can these bloody idiot politicians get treatment from reserved doctors, can fly in reserved pilots??????

Large families, lack of education , esp for girls , lack of equal rights to girls also has a part to play in backwardness of some communities. Instead of blaming govt how about some introspection & changing some ancient beliefs & practices that do not serve any purpose in present times.

exactly. he is himslef saying that they r getting certain privileges over hindus and still if they r backward and all that then who is to be blamed govt or they? i dont see india discriminating had that been the case we wont have all the top actors muslims not muslim president nor such a huge population of muslims in india.

Do you have any source to back up this claim?

Intentionally ignoring one's post to avoid responding to some of the most crucial points that had been put forward is no way of discussing, let alone debate. Maybe you should first answer why you feel Muslims require a special reservation, before you start jumping into another area into the discussion.

Sorry yaar having quota/jobs/education is not going to stop someone from doing terrorist activities. Afterall they have found MIT educated, Top firm employed, Doctors in the terrorisism business. That;s like saying Gasoline causes arson

Anyways I completely agree with you, Muslims should have quota reservations along with Hindu,Christian, Jews, Sikhs, Men, Women, LGBT, do a celsius based upon all the criteria and then do reservations/quotas for everyone, so nobody gets discriminated against, everyone gets their fair share, Agree???

*viewbies note* There is no reason why there should be a 'religion' based discussion on reservation. Reservation can be discussed as a generic system in any organization or nation in order to promote welfare of minorities. This thread will remain locked. Those who want to discuss reservation can do so here.
