Post It Love

Kulraaj calmly placed paper after paper in the photo copy machine. The lights from the machine played shadows on her face as she kept putting paper on the glass, expressionless.

Over in the next compartment, Kiran was using a photocopying machine for the first time in his life. Being an intern in a law firm was not that bad because they didn't want you to do any work besides delivering memo's and making coffee.

At the same time, both of them noticed that the machines were out of paper. Both bent down to gather a bunch of printing paper and placed it in the machine. Standing up, both glanced at each other over the compartment. A smile flitted across Kulraaj's face.

Kiran walked back to his small compartment, dragging his feet, the buttons of his coat open. Sighing, he sat down and noticed a blue folder on his desk that he was sure was not there before. Frowning he opened it and inside, a smiling face made out of post-its greeted him. He stared back at it.

Pushing his feet off the ground, he pushed his chair so he could see into the hall. Looking to the right, the hall was empty. As he glanced to the left, he saw a flash of movement, someone watching him. As he looked back down at the smiley face, he thought he knew who it was.

The next morning, Kulraaj walked into her super's office, spitting fire from her anger. She was supposed to prep up the office for her majesty. Such as dusting, letting the light in and arranging all her documents for the day in order of importance. Scoffing, Kulraaj set back her bag and pulled open the blinds. The sun streamed in.

But not the sun as we know it. A paper sun. Made out of completely post its. She looked over her shoulder, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Kiran fumbled with his tie in front of the mirror as his nose wrinkled up. He hated public bathrooms. So dead, so grey. He payed no attention as another work weary employee walked into the bathroom and into a stall.

He paused. There was a speech bubble coming out of the side of his head. With a a pink heart in the middle. He looked closely and his suspicion was proved. Post-its. He looked back in the mirror, smiling.

Public bathrooms were not so bad.

Kulraaj opened the door to the storage closet and shut it once more, leaving her in darkness. She groped around for the light switch and felt her fingers graze a piece of string. She pulled and a flowery (literally) sight met her eyes.

On the blank wall was a bouquet of flowers, using purple and yellow post-its. Her face broke out into a smile.

She opened the door to the storage closet, ready to leave. Slyly, her gaze goes down both corridors making sure no one is there and Kulraaj emerged with a couple armfuls of post-its. As she walked down the hall, a smile makes its way on her face, anticipating her next project.

Turning the corner, she keeps looking over her shoulders, making sure her boss does not pop put of no where.

As she turns to face the front, her steps immediately slow down to a stop as she takes in the sight in front of her. Her face. And his. Post-its.

Kiran smoothed down post its making the pink paper clip in Kulraaj's hair and pauses as he hears footsteps behind him. He straightens up, not sure what to say. He stood tall in his shoes, trying to show her he was confidence and not the nervous fool he actually was.

She stared at him, wordlessly, eyes wide open. And she couldn't resist.

She smiled.
