Gulshan Kumar's daughter, Tulsi, sings her second film song

No matter how strong their family background is, some people believe in taking the hard way to make it big in life. Similar seems to be the case with Tulsi Kumar. For those who haven't heard of her before, Tulsi happens to be the daughter of T-series owner Gulshan Kumar. Tulsi has taken up a career in singing and has recently recorded her second Hindi film song with Himesh Reshammiya for Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye. Earlier she sang for Aksar which was also composed by Himesh. Though both the films were produced by T-series she didn't just end up singing for the films.

According to Tulsi, Himesh was on the lookout of a new voice for Aksar. Her elder brother Bhushan Kumar then suggested Himesh to test her. It was only after auditioning that she got a chance to sing for the film. Later on Sonu Nigam heard the song and loved her voice. Hence, she got her second chance to sing with him for Hum Ko Deewana Kar Gaye.

Rang De Basanti press conference puts speculations to rest

Rang De Basanti has been in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. Which is why the producers, UTV and the director Rakeysh Mehra decided to hold a press conference in order to clear the air. They felt that a non issue had been made an issue and they wanted to make it a non issue again!

The film has been in the news due to scenes that were found objectionable by the IAF. Ronnie Screwvala was present and stated that most of the stories that have been circulating are untrue. Only one scene has been cut from the film. This scene depicts a festival of the Nihang Sikhs and has animals in it. Said Screwwala, "You can speculate till the cows come home but there are no cuts recommended by anyone other than the horse riding scene. We didn't know but the overall festival has been banned." So totally, only twenty seconds of the movie were offensive and that too because of the use of animals. The scene in question will be edited today. The film has been approved by the IAF without any cuts. There were also reports doing the rounds that Aamir Khan wasn't too co-operative about the film's promotions. To this he replied, "Aamir just got married. He's shooting for his next film so I don't know what the issue is. Otherwise he's really present. You can't have an actor like Aamir not involved with the day to day progress of the film."

Talking about why the film has been postponed, he stated that they would be able to capitalize the long weekend due to Republic Day. So as of today, Rang De Basanti will hit theatres on 25th January.

Minissha Lamba in Farhan's Honeymoon

Actress Minissha Lamba who made her debut with Yahaan is all set to rock this year. It is believed that she has signed five films including Farhaan Akhtar's next film Honeymoon Tours and Travels Pvt Ltd. The film which has Abhay Deol in lead will be directed by Farhaan's associate director, Reema.

Actress Lamba, who is keeping a low profile, received critical acclaim for her debut film Yahaan last year. Speaking about Honeymoon…she explained that it's a story of a just married couple, who are on their honeymoon. She is also working on Madhur Bhandarkar's Corporate.

Her other films include a supernatural thriller titled Slat opposite K.K. Menon and directed by newcomer Hemant Madhukar and a movie with Raj Kaushal. Again she has made an appearance on the small screen in Himesh Reshammiyian's debut album 'Tera Suroor'.

Saif goes the bald way

Salman Khan seems to have started quite a trend in Bollywood after going for the clean shaven look. Its now the turn of actor Saif Ali Khan to go bald. The actor's new look is for the film Othello. Initially, he was quite apprehensive, but after a while, he loved it! Incidentally, the person responsible for Saif's hair style is Aalim, who chopped Salman's hair! Another actor who has gone for this look is Atul Agnihotri.

Zayed to endorse Mirinda

The latest Khan to join the cola endorsement brigade is the newly married Zayed Khan. The actor is all set to endorse Mirinda and has apparently been signed for a two year contract. The campaign is currently in the process of being shot. Representatives at Mirinda believe that Zayed represents the youth and his personality is similar to the brand attributes. So that makes Zayed the perfect choice!
