An interview with Hussain (sumit of kumkum)
He's a heart throb on television but wears his success well. Feet
planted solidly on terra firma, that's **Hussain Kuwajerwala**, best
known as Sumit of Kumkum Pyara Sa Bandhan, who answers a host of
questions about his life and loves. In Hyderabad recently to shoot
for a commercial, we met up with the good looking actor over a cup of
chai at the Krishna Oberoi.
V: Welcome to Hyderabad. Is this your first trip to the city? How do
you like our city?
H: No, actually it's the second time I've been here. I was here
several years ago to attend a wedding. Yes, it's a great place though
I haven't had much chance to move around.😊
V: You're here to do an ad. How does it feel to be back to doing ads,
because that's how you started your career?
H: Yes, true but you see I have been doing ads on and off. Just last
year I did a commercial for tea. This one is for a soft drink and
involved just two days work. So why not?😛
V: Tell us more about the serials you are working on at the moment.
H: There's Kumkum and Khullja SimSim which are from the same
production house BAG Films. While KJSS has only recently started,
Kumkum is poised to come to a logical conclusion later this year.😕
Which will give me time to focus on new shows.😃
V: Is Kumkum going off air?😕
H: That's the plan unless there is an extension. Which actually
shouldn't be a problem because the serial is high in the TRP ratings
but the production house and the channel have other ideas. But KJSS
will be around, very much so.😃😊
V: Tell us more about the new shows you have in mind.
H: A couple of things in the pipeline, but nothing concrete. I'm
considering a serial, a new one, which begins off as a college
romance but turns into a murder mystery midway. It will have Nausheen
Ali Sardar in a prominent role. There is also a very interesting
negative role, an offer from Balaji Telefilms. Let's see what
transpires.
V: Tell us about your interests?
H: I really don't get much spare time to indulge in hobbies. I love
to watch movies, spend time with friends and family, work out. That's
about it.😳
V: What about your love life?
H (smiling)😃: What about it?
V: Much has been written about your on screen and off screen
chemistry with co-star Juhi Parmar. So give us your final word on
this.
H: I do not know why the media is so concerned about us. The truth is
that Juhi is just a co-star and we are good friends. Okay I know this
is the cliched answer you get from everyone but in this case it is
the truth.😛
V: The whole truth and nothing but the truth?
H (smiling again)😃: Look, the only way you are going to believe me is
when I actually get married. So can you please wait for a while?
V: Meaning, there is someone in your life?
H: Yes there is but I'm not ready to disclose any more details. I
promise you that I will reveal everything later this year but for now
I cannot.
V: Something at least, please?
H: Well, she is not from the television industry. We are actually
family friends and I have known her for many years. Only as friends
but now (smiling broadly)😃😃, yes, we are more than friends.😛 What else
can I tell you? She's not very tall, has a beautiful smile😊. But I'm
not into looks, what matters is the person within. And she is a very
very beautiful person. Okay that's all!
His cell phone rings on cue. Looks like the chai break is over.😛
