I think there was a difference when it came to DK-Arjun. DK betrayed Arjun. He lied to him for most of his life regarding his mom and also brainwashed him into not trusting Arohi. So, DK played with Arjun's emotions and his life, with good intentions on DK's part I guess. So, Arjun not speaking to his dad and leaving his wealth was in part for himself, a revolt to show his father his actions were not appreciated. So, Arjun leaving DK was due to a lifetime of betrayal.

However, HP hasn't betrayed Arohi in anyway. He's always been there for his daughter, guiding her perfectly, giving her complete freedom. Arohi has no reason to be leaving her father/family, and so leaving her father would be more a rash decision under an obsession than under true love.

But yeah...like there should be some kind of respectful solution to everything. KMH has always found a way to make its characters show immense respect for the elderly, this scenario should be no different.
