Yes, it is more probable that Khemi is Kanji's daughter. However if that is true and Hit-mi get hitched, then there won't be any confrontations between DM and Kanji. Because in the culture depicted in the show, it's always the girl's father who is deferential to the guy's father and so Kanji is not going to be confrontational with his daughter's in-laws. Even DM, with his pride and arrogance and all, was like that infront of his friends Meghna and Rasik during Kaddu's bidaii.

Come to think of it, that would apply even if Santo was Kanji's daughter. Kanji would not have clashed with his daughter's husband.

So, I guess all the confrontation between the two men would have to be before the secret is out.

Even if the secret is out, the two can still clash because of what Moti did to Kanji. I doubt whether Kanji will sit back meekly because his duaghter is married into the family. He needn't fear that whatever he does would affect Khemi because Hiten is more than capable of taking care that his wife is not illtreated in the Mahiyavanshi household. I would like Kanji to develop as an alter ego for DM immaterial of his relationship with him, past or present.

Well, if he is really going to clash with the Mahiyavanshi's and if Moti really did something horrible to him and if he is going to pursue a vendetta against the family, more specifically against Moti, then is he really going to let his daughter(assuming it is Khemi) marry into the family which would result in her having to choose sides - her father or her in-laws.

No, he will not, which is why I think the new promo is significant because if DM accuses Santo of wanting to divorce him and getting back with Shashank thereby ruining his daughter's life, we may get to see the real reason for her decision coming out. Maybe Shashank will tell him the truth. Meghna may also support it saying Santo was not in love with her son although he was and she herself knew it before. If this truth comes out in public and Kanji is witness to it, he will definitely relent and let his daughter marry Hiten because if a girl can sacrifice her married life for her 'sister' how can he deny his own daughter the right to be with her man? It may be his day of reckoning. But given the strained relations between father and son, his being Hiten's father-in-law may only accentuate the clashes with DM for then he will not only be against the Mahiyavanshis but also be helping the 'wronged' son get back at his father.

I don't think Santo agreeing to divorce DM for Hit-Mi is reason enough for Kanji to let his daughter marry into a family he apparently despises, at least thats what I think. Also, we have already seen that even though Hiten has a lot of differences with his father, he does not join hands with others against him. So, I don't think Hiten will take it very kindly if Kanji tries to harm DM or join hands with Kanji against DM and if he does just because Kanji happens to be Khemi's father, it definitely won't reflect very well on his character.

Anyways, we are all just guessing and everyday we hear new theories of what the relationship between these characters might be, some of them pretty far-fetched. I think we should just let the story unfold and see where the creatives take us - maybe they will surprise us.

I think that would be a strong enough reason considering the Kanji seems to be both righteous and a man with a heart although he is a goon. When I said clash I did not mean something that would harm DM. I meant it more in the light of showing DM his place when he acts arrogant. DM sure needs someone as strong as Kanji to show that he cannot just bulldoze his way through. I don't think Hiten should have problems with that as Kanji is not like the self serving Saadu Bhai of DM or the cunning and crass AC whose clashes with DM is driven by not-so honourable thoughts or deeds.
Yes, we are all guessing and there is no harm in it. While some like to wait and watch, others like me always like to have our own guesses and wishes. Maybe the story may be something entirely different. It really does not matter.
