Btw why was he in prison for nearly 19 years or more? The maximum prison sentence in India is 14 years, isn't it? And that is for murder.

Section 302 under the Indian Penal Code says that whoever commits murder shall be punished with death, or imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to fine
So, there isn't any limit for prison sentence in India. It can even be lifetime imprisonment, which is called "Aajivan Kaaravas" in Hindi (You might have heard that word in Bollywood movies😉)
But I have also heard that sometimes prisoners (those sentenced to lifetime imprisonment) are freed after quite some years (I think after a minimum of 14 years) because of good conduct in jail
So that can be the case of Kanji Wagela also
No, life sentence in India means a sentence of 14 years at the maximum. One can also get capital punishment (by hanging) but this is used in the rarest of rare cases. One can get a parole (for good conduct) if one is under life sentence (which will mean one can be set free before 14 years) after serving a minum of 8 years. I say this because in some cases the judge gives two life sentences to the accused. As we have only one life, how can one spend two life sentences in prison unless each life sentence refers to a partiuclar number of years (in this case it would be a total of 28 years in prison).

Hi neha here,
I don't think Moti has any child from Kanji. If she were wouldn't she went looking for her baby years ago. The fact that her father sent Kanji to jail so at least her father can question him where is his child if the child is his grandchildren. I really hope it's Santo instead of Khemi.
2.And is the son of Shubi and Kanji. Now that would imply that Shubi was preg before marriage and since Moti dearly loved Shubi (who was also her friend), she covered up the truth and pretended that the baby was DM's. Again the baby may have been returned back to the DM household and is now known as DM's eldest son Hiten when in reality he is neither related to Moti or DM. This would pave the way for Hiten-Khemi union as there is no relationship whatsoever between them.
