| Director Samar Khan has got over Kuch Meetha Ho Jaaye and is now on to his next project. The film will be launched at the end of this year, and is being scripted by Khan and Rohit Malhotra.
When contacted, Khan doesn't want to reveal details, "Yes, I am in the process of scripting my next project with Rohit, but it's too early to talk about it. All I can say is that it will be different from Kuch Meetha." Slick look
Says Harish Dayani, CEO, Saregama Films, "Yes we are producing Samar's next film. The project sounded very exciting and that's why we decided to take it up.
It is a very good international crime-based action thriller, set in Europe, and is likely to have a very international look. That's one of the reasons we are seriously thinking of signing on cinematographer Lisa Leonie — Stanley Kurbick's assistant — who has also shot for our film, Karma, Confessions and Holi."
Have they finalised the cast of Khan's film? Says Dayani, "There are a couple of big stars who have evinced great interest in the project. We should sign them soon, but we also need another guy and girl. Such films don't come cheap and one needs a matching casting for it."
The film will be shot in UK, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and India. Informs Dayani, "We have a title, but it's with someone else at present, and we are trying to get it from them."
Besides Karma, Confessions and Holi (starring Sushmita Sen and Randeep Hooda) and Khan's next film, Saregama has many plans for 2006.
"If numbers are an indication, we have identified nine directors in nine films, with the casting on. We will go sequentially and shoot one film at a time." Some of the directors include Anant Mahadevan and Imtiaz Ali.
Karma, Confessions and Holi is complete and "post-production work is going on" says Dayani. "We are looking at a May release for the film." |
