Imagine our reaction then, when the Dil Chahta Hai dude turned red when we announce he's the country's latest sex symbol post his tongue-in-cheek antics as judge in celebrity dance show Nach Baliye. ''I've no idea about it. It's very flattering to hear this,'' he blushes.
Ask him if he's the hottest director on the circuit and the blush deepens. ''No, I don't think so. What are you saying,'' he blinks furiously. Tell him he has a way with the ladies and he goes through another serious round of self-doubt. ''I've never felt that,'' he dismisses.
We remind him about Delnaaz Paul's ''Farhan-Farhan-Farhan'' chant in an earlier episode where she declared she was dancing only for him.''It was a very spontaneous reaction and if I remember right, I went red in the face then too. Moments like these increase the entertainment value of the show,'' he says.

There's no stopping him now that he is on the funny wave. Akhtar thanks designer Sanjeev Mulchandani for his cool kurta look on the show, which was also much appreciated by Archana Puran Singh. ''I want to thank my wife Adhuna for managing my temperamental and difficult hair. And of course my parents for their sexy genes,'' he declares.
The fun and games stop at the mention of his third directorial outing Don. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer goes on the floors on January 30. Akhtar has finished recording four tracks with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The vintage Don tracks Khaike Paan Benaras Wala and Yeh Mera Dil have been retained. ''I've tried to make the film exciting for today's generation. Basically the idea is to make SRK do what Mr Bachchan did,'' he states.
