| Post Kasshish (Zee), Ravi Rai is focussing on films. The producer-director has decided to direct and write the screenplay and dialogues for Anubhav Sinha's films.
Confirming the development, Rai said, "I got a call from Anubhav, asking me to meet him. When we met, he said he wanted to employ me as a director for one of his projects this year. I too was thinking of moving towards films, and have liked Anubhav's films in the past." Exploring relationships
In his trademark style, will this film be based on relationships too? "Yes, how can I move away from my territory? I will be tackling issues like marriage, trust and love. The backdrop is that of the July 26 rains, where a guy and a girl meet and are stuck in one place.
How they interact and deal with each other's past is what the film will be about." He adds that the casting for the film has yet to be finalised, but will happen soon. "I have already started working on the script and we should be rolling by March."
Another highlight of the film, according to Rai, is the music. "Vinay Tiwari (of the Nikhil-Vinay jodi) has given some amazing classical music for the film. It will be interesting to see how the songs are picturised." Time out
On the personal front, Rai wants to indulge in all the things he hasn't got time for.
"I want to start painting again. I am planning to do an abstract of Lord Ganesha in the coming days. Cricket is something I am passionate about; when I wake up in the morning, I play before I start any work. I also love singing. This year, I plan to devote my personal time to all these things and live life my way."
On the television front too, Rai is working on a project that he doesn't want to disclose at this juncture. "I am a television man, and cannot keep myself away from soaps," he says. |
