 Ranbir's new hairy avataar may not prove to be good for his ego. Last week, he was out for a quiet dinner with girlfriend Deepika Padukone. Fans approached her for autographs and pictures, but Ranbir was completely ignored. He has grown a beard and a moustache to play a sardar in Shimit Amin's Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, which may have contributed to the lack of recognition.Says a source present at the restaurant, "Ranbir and Deepika were at Taj Land's End for a cozy dinner. People noticed Deepika immediately and gathered around her for autographs and also clicked pictures with her. Ranbir went unnoticed, thanks to his makeover. No one seemed to have recognised the star while they hounded Deepika, though Ranbir is equally popular and loved. It was quite amusing." Ranbir sure must have had a hearty laugh to see his efforts paying off. After all, he could've simply used fake facial hair, instead of taking the pains to grow it.
