Should Deepu move on beyond Panchi?

At Jyoti's wedding, Deepu and Panchi were having a conversation, when Panchi's father intervened and said that while he was happy to now be associated w/ Jyoti as a result of her wedding, the same didn't apply to Deepu, and he should not try to take advantage of this situation. This after Deepu was smarting from a conversation of the gossipy women about Jyoti's family sacrificing a daughter to this family.

Given this contrast between the families, and the fact that Deepu would be completely different from Panchi's dad, is it time that he recognizes that this is a non-starter, and move on? Or should they go through all the twists and turns they need until they converge?

On the yes side is the argument that Deepu would only be bringing himself into tense situations and exacerbate his already tough role in trying to support his parents and grandma. He doesn't need the tension that he'd get w/ Panchi's dad, as well as aspersions that would be even worse than it was here w/ Jyoti - that he's trying to marry into Panchi's money, which, to make things worse, he last time actually did.

On the no side is the love argument.

So what do you think? Should he formally tell Panchi and her dad that it's over, and that both of them are now free to look elsewhere, and then start looking for dates who's families aren't going to make him uncomfortable?

Although I know he will continue to love Panchi, he should start his life again and find another girl.

I agree. He doesn't need the baggage, or the questions that are bound to come up if they two go ahead. Who knows - he may find a girl who can make him happy, w/o his worrying about satisfying her tastes, the way he had to w/ Panchi.

Nonetheless, interested in what others have to say.

Jyoti's Sandeep and Panchi to marry

Jyoti (NDTV Imagine) will certainly continue to keep its fans glued to their TV sets with its latest twist: Jyoti's brother Sandeep (Varun Khandelwal) will marry his ex-girlfriend friend Panchi (Via Chaudhary).

A source says, "Panchi, who is in Sandeep's college, used to be his girlfriend. When she realised that he was not serious about their relationship and about his career, they broke up. Then, after Jyoti married, Sandeep changed for the better and now, things will be sorted out between him and Panchi. They will marry soon."

When contacted, Varun Khandelwal who plays Sandeep, says, "We haven't been told anything yet. Presently, the track concentrates on Jyoti's married life. After that it will shift to Sudha's track. But yes, we've started shooting for sequences where Sandeep and Panchi start speaking to each other. So they might get married in the coming episodes."

Presently on the show, Jyoti (Sneha Wagh) is married to Pankaj (Sarwar Ahuja) and the story revolves around their married life. Jyoti's brother-in-law Pratik, who is in love with her sister Devika aka Sudha (Sriti Jha), will bring Devika to Jyoti.

Sandeep's and Panchi's wedding is estimated to take place in a month's time. Jyoti airs every Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on NDTV Imagine.

I'm sure Uday will be shocked when he finds out that Pratik is the one who will end up with Devika. Also, does Sudha disappear in that case completely, and Devika take over? I thought that Devika would be exposed as Sudha, and after some initial recriminations, Uday would be okay with Sudha instead of Devika.

Also, given that Devika's romance has just started, isn't it a bit early to leak that Panchi will marry Deepu? In this case, there is the complication of her father, who is thoroughly disgusted w/ Deepu, and won't allow Panchi anywhere near him. I think they should find someone else for Deepu and just leave Panchi going unmarried in this serial.

Another thing - Deepu was never 'not' serious about their relationship - he was only not serious about his career, and wanted to sponge off her, which is what ticked her off, when Jyoti exposed him.

So if they are going to cover Devika's and Deepu's marriages, looks like there is quite a bit of time left in this serial. Somehow, I was under the idea that it was nearing the end.

i think they wrote the wrong name...they got confused with the characters Pratik & Uday...Pratik is head over heels in love with blue-wearing-saree girl

I did find it interesting that they keep referring to Devika. In other words, Uday will never find out that he's marrying Sudha? So whenever Sudha wakes up in Uday's bed after the previous night as Mrs Devika Vashisht, she'll go 😲? Sounds like the Adam Sandler movie '50 First Dates'. 😆😆😆

Since i'm new here let me just confirm one thing. Is Jyoti ending?
I will be devastated if this is true, as this is the best show on TV.
Okay, this is off topic but i've confirmed that i am a jinx. Whenever i adore a show or a jodi, bad luck strikes and one of these options commence: show ends, jodi separate and marry other people, character dies, jodi dies either metaphorically or literally. And my luck is such that everything i despise drags on for eternity and refuses to end i.e. Kyunki, which thankfully ended before i died but still it was many years overdue.


Back to Sandeep-Panchi. The arguments have already been put forth in your question Vrishna. If you go for practicality than he should move on but if you have faith in their love than one would assume they deserve to be together. Personally, i feel that if the show is wrapping up they'd want to end it neatly by getting the two married or else they will not have time to introduce a new character and develop a bond between them. Unless they just show Deepu building his career and becoming financially secure; i'd like him to fulfil his parents aspirations of him becoming an engineer.

Alternatively, Deepu showed real remorse for his actions and if Panchi still loves him than together they can handle his Dad, the same way Jyoti-Pankaj are handling the gossips who judge their relationship. It would be better if Panchi takes a stand on that part, and declares she is ready to adjust to the lifestyle Deepu can provide for her as long as he is a honest hardworking man. In that instance, the ball is in her court. Does she love Deepu for him or does she need a man with status?

In that case, stop watching the serial - we don't want it to end.... just kidding 😆 (Of course, since NDTVI has, in their infinite wisdom, decided to leak a part of the ending that Jyoti will be kicked out, we know it anyway, so you needn't feel guilty in this case. Oh, and please tell me you didn't watch Ramayan and develop an affection for Sita 😆😆😆)

At any rate, I'd like to see them go their own separate ways. One of the reasons is that I'm a lot less forgiving than others here, and I hated Deepu originally because of the way he called Sudha Dheeli, and secretly slandered Jyoti and ruined her rishtas. I want to see him suffer - I don't believe he should be given a good life simply because he is remorseful and is trying to improve by doing a courier job. Also, if it weren't for his wanting to treat Panchi, he wouldn't have swindled his father's hard earned money - his father never saw even a paisa of it. In addition to Sudha and Padma, I still dislike, if not hate, both Deepu, for the above, and Dadi for participating in tormenting Sudha, instead of protecting her when she was a vulnerable kid. People here are too forgiving, as is Sudha. If I were in Sudha's place, I'd only want/allow Papa at my wedding, if even that. Problem being then she'd have nobody.

Back to Panchi. Her father was impressed w/ Jyoti and trusted her and KK in his acceptance of Deepu. But he also wanted that Panchi should be well taken care of, and every time we see Panchi, she's in that ac car. Nothing wrong w/ it, but while I want Deepu to suffer, it's unfair to both to create an expectation where he has to match her current lifestyle, or where he feels guilty due to not being able to.

Also, in today's episode, when she told Deepu that Sudha was wearing a miniskirt, Deepu might either laugh it off, or this might damage their relationship again, since Deepu is no longer the person who used to insult 'Dheeli', and so won't tolerate hearing such things about her. OTOH, how come Panchi is such a judgemental person? What business is it of hers whether or not Sudha wears a miniskirt? And what was Panchi doing out that late at night? Pot, kettle, anyone?

If the show TRPs are up due to Jyoti's wedding, and next, the Devika angle, then they can cash in on the publicity by first marrying off Sudha, and maybe Sandeep, and breaking up Sushma. After that would be the controversial ending.

on a more serious note Sandeep's needs to mature and repent more before he is worthy of any girl. Marrying panchi will just add to his troubles, one more mouth to feed. I also didnt like how in todays episode he was so hopeful she has come to say some lovey dovey crap to him like take me back or something, Aur bhi gham main zamanay main mohabbat ke siva!
