Heyy ji... this one shot/ surprise shot is dedicated to another one shot writer whose one shots i enjoy a lot... and here is a clue... this is a tragic one shot... and the person i am dedicating it to... well, she loves tragedies... anyways, here goes...
As the morning sun rose in the sky, a girl got up out of bed. She stretches out, and then sits, pulling her knees close, and hugging them. Outside her room, and in another part of the house, there is lot of hustling-bustling going on. Preparations are being made ' decorations being set up, some food and sweets cooked, etc.
Back to the girl, who finally gets out of bed, and goes to the bathroom to get ready. She soon comes out and wears a white coloured salwar kameez, with small patterns of red flowers. As she sits down at the dressing table, someone enters the room.
"Tum kya pehen rahi ho? Tumhari shaadi kuch hi ghanto mein honey waali hai." asks the person.
"Woh maa' Main bhool gayi thi." the girl replies.
"Aaj tumhari shaadi hai, aur tum bhool gayi? Achcha..ek minute, main samajh gayi' Itni khushi aur excitement ki vajah se shayad tumhein yaad nahin raha na?" says the lady, who is the girl's mom.
The girl just gives a smile to her mother as se leaves the room for her to get ready. The girl then goes to her cupboard to take out a wedding dress, and as she sits on the bed holding it, she becomes sad and forlorn. She thinks about some of her past times.
"Prem... Prem, mujhe chodo..." the same girl screams, as a boy who has been chasing her, finally catches her and hugs her tight.
"Abhi toh pakda hai. Zindagi bhar nahin chodoonga." Prem replies, kissing her neck, causing her to giggle more.
"Achcha... Toh kam se kam kiss karna toh band karo na. Tumhari is stubble se mujhe gudgudee aa rahi hai. Tum shave karke aao."
"Kyun? Mujhe laga ki tumhein yeh rugged handsome look tumhein pasand tha." Prem asks, letting go of her, but turning her around to face him. He holds around at shoulders.
"Haan. Lekin jab tum mujhe kiss karte ho na, toh bilkul nahin. Agar tumhein mujhe phir se kiss karna hai na, toh pehle shave karo."
"Toh jab tak main shave nahin karta tum mujhe kiss nahin karogi?"
"Naa."
"Really? Tumne soch liya?"
"Haan. No shave, no kiss."
"Achcha? Abhi dekhta hoon" says Prem. And he starts to get hold of her again, but before she can come into his hold, she runs away, and he has to chase her again.
Prem finally manages to get hold of her, and rubs his face against her cheek, as she screams. Both of them fall on on the bed. Finally, tired of trying to trouble her, he just turns to her and tells her "I Love You, Meera".
"I Love You too Prem..." Meera says as she hugs him.
Back to the present, Meera, the bride for the day, is still staring at her wedding dress. She stops stoning when her younger sister, Shifali, along with some of her friends, come into the room to help her get dressed and all ready.
As they all adorn Meera with jewellery, she just continues looking sad and lost. Though looking at her, one may be confuse as to why she looking so - afterall, it is her wedding day, and on this day, all brides are supposed to be happy and blushing.

Soon, Meera gets ready. It is almost time for her to go to the mandap, yet, there is not a hint of happiness on her face. Shifali and the friends go out of the room, deciding to leave Meera alone for a few minutes, before she is called down.
Meera again thinks back to the fun and happy times she spent with Prem - the love of her life. She remembers the time her proposed to her, to become his girlfriend, and then when they decided to get married... Every happy moment...
Throughout their courtship, Prem always gave her, happiness and whatever else her heart desired. Never once did he ask her for anything in return for the love that he gave. Yet, when the one time he asked, Meera was finding it difficult to say yes to him. And why?
Well, Prem had asked Meera to marry his elder brother.
Prem and Meera actually met in college. First, the actually hated each other, and then eventually became good friends. At first, Meera used to visit Prem's house often - to do projects, or just hang out with him - as his friend. Then, when Meera and Prem fell in love and began dating, Meera still continued visiting Prem at his house, as a friend, as they did not want to tell their parents of their relationship yet.
It was in Prem's house, that his elder brother Rajveer saw Meera often, and fell in love with her. While Prem was more of the shy type, Raj was able to speak out more, and thus, he was the one to tell his parents that he loved Meera. That day, Prem was also planning to tell his parents the truth, but when he overheard Raj telling so that he loved Meera, too, first, he held back with tears in his eyes.
"Ek bohot bada dhokha khane ke baad aaj Raj bhaiya finally kisi se pyar kar paaye hain. Main unse unka pyar nahin cheen sakta" says Prem to himself, while thinking about the time when his brother's ex-girlfriend cheated on him with another guy - Raj was so heartbroken that he almost tried to commit suicide. "Bhaiya ki khushi ke liye mujhe apne pyar ki kurbaani deni ho hogi"
Prem decides to sacrifice his love for Meera, just to make sure his brother remains happy. He speaks to Meera, who though declines at first, finally agrees when Prem says "Agar tumhara mere liye pyar sachcha hai, toh tum bhi yeh kurbaani dogi."
Meera comes back to the present time, sad, and with tears in her eyes. Shifali enters the room to take Meera down to the mandap. As Meera descends the stairs, she catches Prem looking at her with tears in his eyes. Seeing him sad, Meera too sheds more silent tears. She then bends down, to avoid looking at him, fearing that if she does look, and sees him, she might just have to break the promise she gave him.

"Kuch hi der mein, main kisi aur ko honey vaali hoon. Jab hum ek the, toh mujhe yakeen tha ki hum kabhi door nahin hongey. Lekin, aaj hum dono mein dooriyan itni badhne vaali hai ki hum kabhi ek nahin ho sakte" says Meera to herself, as she thinks about her's and Prem's lost and incomplete love.

Meera sits down beside Raj at the mandap. As per customs, all the rituals are being followed. While Meera seems to just dazedly following what the pandit is telling her to do, Prem, in another corner or the mandap, looks on, hiding his tears.
"Mujhe pata hai ki tum bhaiya se shaadi nahin karna chahti. Tum soch rahi hogi ki mujhe is baat se koi gham nahin. Lekin, main bhi tumhein bhaiya ka hote huye dekhkar dukhi hoon. Phir bhi, main majboor hoon. Kuch nahin kar sakta. Shayad hum kabhi ek doosre ke liye bane hi nahin the. Shayad jo hona tha, woh aakhir ho hi gaya." thinks Prem to himself.

The wedding rituals are all completed soon enough. Meera, with sindoor in her forehead, the mangalsutra around her neck, and tears in her eyes, leaves her maayka to go to her sasuraal. After her bidaai, she sits in the car, with Raj beside her, and waves out to her family. She catches Prem's eye one more time, and he seems to be silently telling her, "Ab humara pyar bhoolo. Tum bhaiya ki ho chuki ho. Bhagwan ko bhi yeh hi manzoor tha."

Back in the car, Meera wipes her tears, and turns to face Raj. True, she had waited almost her whole life to get married. Like every girl, she also had dreams that her wedding would be grand. For Meera, this wish of a grand wedding got fulfilled, but, it was not to the man she loved.

But, what can Meera do? Meera had to forget her love, forget Prem, as she was now Raj's... Perhaps it was written in their fates... Perhaps, Meera and Prem were never meant to be...
Ok... tt was sad... and it kinda sorta sucked... i could have written better, but what to do.. i'm not good at writing tragedies tt much... as if this was much of a tragedy... i wud define it more of a sad ending to a story...
