Shyam-Suguna track very unnatural and unreal

Widow remarriage and especially with an additional responsibility is worth the message. But the way it happened, did not seem natural or real at all. It was not only too fast, too soon but also IMPOSSIBLE to ever happen in real life with Suguna's attitude and behavior towards Shyam. Simply no reason to fall in love with a Girl who is always bitter and rude when opens her mouth.

I want to share a true story that actually did happen in the same situation as Shyam and Suguna. But it happened in the city between two mature and educated people.

One of my friends was widowed after 4 months of her marriage. Two months after the husband's death she found out her pregnancy. Everyone (Friends, family, relatives) shocked at her fate tried to help her and family the best they could. However, one of the friends of the husband was extra helpful and nice to family. He maintained the relationship with family for 2 years. Helping them in each way he could. Became very close to everyone in family. After about 2 years, he told his family and her family that he wished to marry her. Her family of course was very happy. My friend did not really love him but did respect him as a very good human being. She also knew that she needed a life time friend to move on and agreed. A mature practical decision with the thought that we get married first then fall in love unlike westerns fall in love and then get married.

But his parents said 'NO'. Big NO, not because she was widow, because she had a child. He conveyed his message politely and firmly: I would never go against your wish. I will not marry her if you decide not to bless us. But if I EVER marry, I will ONLY marry her. End of discussion. The parents agreed after a year once they realized that he did mean every word he said. The parents excuse/explanation for agreeing to the marriage was that "we don't want to see him alone for the rest of his life".

They are happily married now. I asked her husband what did he like so much about her to go against his family. And he answer was, I quote: "well I am not crazy about her, I don't feel like going on rooftop and yelling that I am in love. But I simply like everything about her. I can not think of anything that I don't like about her. May be she is just an ordinary girl.. magar mujhe BAHUT achchi lagti hai.., her looks, simplicity, homely and family oriented nature, calm and pleasant attitude.. everything… just everything.. "

I wish creatives had shown something real and natural like this...

I totally agree with one2none, widow remarriage or a dowry victim (divorcee) remarriage in Indian society is an absolute no no. Family will oppose to it and will even threaten that they will commit suicide if this happens and will probably make lame excuses to turn the boy over.... Suguna and Shyam issue though looks nice on screen, but is just not realistic. Madan Singh agreed just like that and his wife Radha had no objection at all which is very very rare, if at all it happens.

Maybe her looks or he likes the attitude. I've noticed one thing that in India guys are different they like girls with attitude whereas guys here don't take attitude from anyone.

i agree...the whole shyam-suguna track is very unrealistic. rather the story related by one2none is very real and relatable. till now BV has always stuck to realism. but with suguna's story they have gone down the usual track. perhaps this is the reason for the show's falling trps.

hey one2one ur story is very touching but there is one huge difference.. the girl in your story was married when she got pregnant.. Sugna had premarital sex and got pregnant .. would the boy in your story still like the girl? i doubt.. really really doubt. Sugna not only did something wrong she is proud of it.. she is being firm in her refusal to Shyam.. where was this firm refusal while making out with Pratap. This Sugna-shyam story is totally unrealistic, very hurried and just not emotionally-tugging for such an important subject. right now I could care a damn what happens to Sugna.. infact though its the right thing to do i feel sorry for shyam's parents too. Sugna and Shyam shud not get to live in that haveli.. they shud get out, slog their butts off and face the consequences of their actions on their own. A girl like Champa was going to get beaten to death and Sugna is getting married to a handsome hunk.. hypocrisy at its best in BV.
