Butterfly Kisses
Vikki stood at the podium, holding the microphone close to his mouth, he cleared his throat, catching the attention of everyone gathered. "If we could please have your attention…it's time for the bride to dance with her father. So everyone, clear the way for them" with that said he turned the microphone over to the blond man standing next to him with a soft smile. Nicky nodded at him and turned to look at the rest of the guys who tilted their head at him. They were dressed in black tuxes with a single white rose pinned to the jacket. Nicky though had a red rose pinned to his.
His eyes rose as he sensed her presence, his breath got caught as he took her image in. Her face lit up the room, her white strapless dress hugged her upper body, crystal embroidery catching the light and shining into Nicky's blue eyes. The skirt dropped to the floor, with few crystals pinned to the back, she looked like a princess and he had never seen a more beautiful one in his life. He narrowed his eyes and tilted his head, looking at the hem of the skirt closely and laughed silently as he noticed it hung closer to the floor than it did before. She had probably taken of the heels she was complaining about a while ago.
As they reached the center of the room, a small string of the orchestra began playing and she turned to look at him with a soft smile, he nodded at her with a small smirk just as Zahid put his hand on her hip and pulled her in for the father-daughter dance of the night. It was his best friend's wedding and he had volunteered to sing a song he knew she loved dearly.
There's two things I know for sure.
She was sent here from heaven, and she's daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night, she talks to Jesus, and I close my eyes.
And I thank God for all the joy in my life,
Oh, but most of all...
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"Walk beside the pony, daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, daddy, but I sure tried."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.

"Daddy! Daddy, see it's a horsie!" a little girl pulled the man with all her might towards the horses waiting to be pampered by the children. Zahid laughed at the look of complete awe on her little face and pulled her up in his arms so she could pet the horses easily. She cooed as the horse rubbed its mane against her hand and sighed when it was time to go home. "Buh-bye horsie! Me will come visit you soon, you just wait for me, I'll drag daddy if I gots to" the seven year old whispered softly in the ear of her favorite horse, Pegasus, as she hugged him. Fat tears were trailing down her pink cheeks as she walked along her father's side, looking back till the horses were gone from her sight.
He placed her in her seat and wiped her tears away with his finger, "aww angel, don't cry now. We'll come back soon okay?" she nodded excitedly. The whole way back home was filled with her chatter on how she couldn't wait and she was going to draw a picture for Pegasus, asking her dad if he would like that. "Course he would baby" Zahid assured her with a smile, shaking his head at her innocence.

Twelve year old Vikki reached out a finger, dipping it into the bowl filled with frosting and bringing it to his mouth, ready to taste the sweet yummy taste of it. "Vikki! Don't you dare eat the frosting" his little sister yelled from behind him, her hands in fists resting on her hips as she scrunched her eyes and glared at his back. He turned quickly, hiding his finger behind his back and shifted his eyes to his sister's annoyed face. "I didn't!" he claimed with innocent eyes. She huffed and pushed him sideways, moving closer to the counter, "yes you did!!" she pointed to his face, where some of the frosting from his previous encounter laid as proof. He smiled embarrassed and apologized while licking his finger.
She rolled her eyes, "It's for daddy's cake, not for you. So if you eat it again, I'm going to tell that girl down the street that you like her" an evil grin came on her face as he paled and turned to leave the room with his hands up. She turned back to the cake that slightly leaned to the right side with a huge smile. She began to cover it with the vanilla frosting carefully, her pink tongue peaking out at the edge of her mouth. An hour passed by as she worked on perfecting her masterpiece. Behind her, she heard the sound of the door opening and Vikki greeting their dad excitedly.
She ran to the living room and into Zahid's arms yelling out "Happy Birthday Papa". He laughed and kissed her cheek as thanks, walking to the kitchen to see the cake sitting there with "Happy B-day Daddy" written in child's handwriting. He laughed silently, it was definitely made by her as if the frosting on her clothes wasn't enough of a hint, the chaos in the kitchen sure was. He stifled a chuckle at the picture of the cake, the top layer was hanging off the bottom one and some parts were left un-frosted. "This is the best cake I have ever seen" he told her, letting her down on the floor.
She clapped her hands and asked him cutely, "Do u like it?" He smiled down at her and tweaked her nose, "Course I love it". The whole family gathered around as he blew out the candle in the middle, closing his eyes and made a wish. A while later when he was tucking her in, she called out to him in the dark. "What did you wish for daddy?" He laughed and replied with a wink, "Now, if I tell you, it won't true now will it?" She giggled in reply and he left the room.

Sweet sixteen today,
She's looking like her mother a little more every day.
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out in a great big world.
But I remember...

"Oh dad, Stephan is here!" the sixteen year old girl turned to look at her father who was watching her with sad eyes. He didn't like her growing up, but no matter how much he wanted it to, time could not be stopped. "Oh dad, don't look at me like that, I promised him that I would go to the movies with him" she said hugging him tightly. He sighed and nodded, following her to the door and watching as she sat down in the car where the guy waved at him. He glared in reply causing Stephan to shiver and look away.
She was dressed in skinny jeans and a dressy shirt that hugged her figure. Zahid knew he was going to be waiting for her to return all night long. He had given her till 11 to come home, after that he was going to call the police. As he sat there in front of the fire in his favorite chair, he thought back to all his times with his daughter, it seemed only yesterday she was born and placed in his arms. She was a tiny thing and he had been so afraid of hurting her, the nurses had quite a giggle over seeing him flush with embarrassment as he kept the baby at arm's length awkwardly before his wife corrected him.
Fifteen minutes before her time was up, his daughter entered the house with a flushed face and her big brown eyes sparkling. She smiled at him quickly and ran up the stairs to call her best friends and tell them about the date. Oh how he hated that word.

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, daddy, but if you don't mind,
I'm only going to kiss you on the cheek this time."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right.
To deserve a hug every morning and butterfly kisses at night.
Kiran smiled as her father leaned in his head to whisper in her ear. She laughed as he twirled her and everyone watching them could see the love they held for one another. Nicky smiled, watching her laugh always made him happy. She leaned up and kissed her father's cheek as he complimented her once again. "Thank you Daddy" she whispered, leaning her head against his shoulder as tears gathered in her eyes and she tried to compose herself. This moment…it was such a beautiful moment that she didn't want to end. After today…this was the last time she could dance as his daughter, after today she would be dancing as someone's wife rather than his little girl. Oh how the times flew by…
She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bedroom just staring at her,
she asked me what I'm thinking, and I said "I'm not sure,
I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
Then she leaned over... and gave me...

Zahid laughed as he watched the little children running around, chasing one another, their shrill voices echoing through the church. The ring bearer and flower girl ran around his feet, he picked the girl up as she stuck out her tongue at her friend who pouted. He could see them growing up to be a couple; they already stuck together and ignored the other kids their age. Ah, young love, such a refreshing moment to watch, he thought as he let the girl down and watched her run away with the boy chasing her. Their laugher made him grin once again.
He turned his eyes to a nervous Kiran who was shifting in her spot. Her maid of honor tucked in a white flower in her hair, adjusting it carefully before stepping away from her. It was a mere minutes before he would be walking her down that aisle, to her to-be-husband. He watched as she bounced in her spot nervously, letting out a slow breath. She took the large bouquet being handed to her, which consisted of different kinds of white flowers, and turned to look at him as she felt eyes watching her. She gave him a soft smile, and held out her arms, turning in her spot and asking him, "Well..?"
He felt a lump begin to form in the back of his throat, clearing it carefully he managed to choke out, "…gorgeous" He was only able to muster up that one word. Today was the day she had been waiting her entire life, the day he had secretly been dreading. He had been holding onto the image of her as the little girl with those pigtails that he just didn't know how to let her go now that it was time for her to leave.
"Okay everyone, let's line up" a strict woman instructed them as she listened to the person on the other line of the tiny ear piece carefully. This was it. The father and bride were ushered behind a thin curtain, away from the guest's sight as everyone else was lined up in order. The large church doors opened allowing way for the first bridesmaid to enter. Kiran looked up at the man next to her and frowned as she watched the creases of worry on his face and shook her head. She poked his side, "you gonna make it?" she asked with a smile. He turned to her and shook his head, admitting to her, "this might be slightly difficult than I thought it would be".
"You know, I'm supposed to be the one nervous, you have to make sure I can make it down that aisle without tripping or running away at the last minute" she laughed as he made a face at her. This was amusing to her.
"It's not you I'm worried about pumpkin, you'll be just fine" he squeezed her hand and pushed back a curl from her face. "It's me I'm worried about…" he glanced at her face, "I don't know what I'll do without you".
A smile came upon her lips and she let out a laugh, "without me? Who said I was leaving you? I stick close like glue, remember?" she asked with a smirk. He laughed and nodded at her, "that you do".
The pair saw the coordinator place the young flower girl in place and as soon as she began to walk down the aisle, she turned to them. "Alright you two, you're next" hearing this, Kiran gulped and turned her big eyes to her father.
"Tell me I made the right choice daddy, tell me he's the right one for me" she pleaded him as they began to walk and panic began to envelop her. He kept his head straight and replied, "Course he is, I always knew you'd marry him. After all, I won't give you away to just anyone" she could feel one of the many tears of that day began to form in her doe-like eyes.

Butterfly kisses, with her mother there,
stickin little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk me down the aisle, daddy, it's just about time"
"Does my wedding dress look pretty, daddy?"
"Daddy, don't cry."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses...
a every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses at night...
As the last words rang out and applause ran through the crowd, Nicky nodded his head silently at the praise the guests showered him and his mates with. He wasn't paying much attention to them as he watched Kiran hug and kiss her father one last time. There was something he had to do, turning over his microphone to Kian who smirked and winked at him, he got off the stage. He began to move towards his destination, just as he reached them, Kiran's father turned to look at him with a small smile, they were still not used to being together so much, even though Kiran and Nicky had known each other for years. The fact that Nicky wasn't Indian made Zahid annoyed at the beginning, he was unsure of his intent with his daughter but after watching the way Nicky behaved around her, so carefully as to not hurt her even without intent, he was beginning to like the young man.
"Brilliant as always son" he complimented the young man kindly. "Thank you Mr. Hossain, it was my pleasure to play" Nicky replied, watching the young woman in white looking at the two with a soft smile. Zahid laughed, "Please Nicky, I think we've gotten past the last name stage, don't you?" Nicky smiled and nodded his head. "Of course Sir…" he chucked nervously. Just then Zahid was called over by some of his friends, so he left them to chat. Before leaving though he looked at Nicky sternly and said in a soft voice, "take care of my little girl would you?" to which Nicky winked at him and said, "I always do".
Turning to the woman standing next to him, he watched her smile and nod at the guests waving at her. The pair stood silently as everyone else bustled around them, Nicky took a breath and looked her up and down. "Has anyone told you how beautiful you look today?" he asked softly, moving closer to her. She brought her eyes to his blue ones and whispered, "Maybe, but I would still like to hear you say it" she smirked at him. He reached out his hand and pushed back her bangs, caressing her cheek as the sound of clinking echoed softly behind him.
"Looks like the guests want you to kiss your husband" he whispered with a smirk and twinkling eyes. She laughed and nodded, "I think you might be right" leaning up slightly and winking at him. "So why don't you give them what they want?" she asked wiggling her brow at him, he laughed softly before pulling her chin up softly. His thumb ran over her lower lip carefully for a moment as he whispered, "with pleasure" before placing his lips on hers. He slowly brought a hand up, resting it on the side of her face as he tilted his own slightly. His hand moved down her cheek and behind her neck as hers came to rest around the nape of his neck. He felt her melt in his arms and he couldn't help but smirk against her lips.
