She has taken Abhi for granted and thought that he would be there obviously. But it isn't so obvious in this situation where they are in right now. Another mode of misunderstanding or misconception. As some one rightly said, they have not developed the strong emotional bonding betweem them after the leap unfortuntely.

Yes, as all have said, this is nothing but EGO. At the same time, I think, Simran never did forget what Abhi had done to her in every step of life. This was always at the back of her mind. Same was the case with Saurabh. They both were very impressed with the way Abhi is now, but they never did forget the bitter past.

So, when they got an opportunity to bring it before all, they grabbed it. Abhi had his own viewpoint on Sid's case. As Urmila says, he never knew Sid that much. But, as a father, his only intention was to safeguard AStha from all the problems in life. I have said in some other thread before, that Abhi very well knows what probelms Simran faced when he left her. So, he does not want History to repeat itself, does not want AStha to get more involved with Sid, mentally and emotionally, so that it becomes difficult for her to cope with life, if Sid is convicted. Abhi is right, in his way of thinking. Simran does not see this at all.

There is always a saying, it is always better to peep into the problems of our own house, than to set things right outside. This is what Abhi is aiming at. He just wants to give a better future to Astha.

But the way Simran and Saurabh behaved with him was very rude. No man will stand all this nonsense. Even if Simran was arguing with him, he should have asked her father to stop interfering. But, she did not do it. For her, her papa meant more than Abhi. Abhi did the best thing in leaving the house... As far as i see it.

It does happen in real life sometimes but as Vazz said it seems contradictory with Simran's charatcer. Those are my thoughts anyway!

Good points Sree. Simran most certainly should not have brought up his past (which is an unpleasant thing to do anwyay). We do it at times but these things done in a moment of emotion can cause terrible bitterness. But I don't condone Abhi leaving the house for one reason - his daughter Sia (or Aastha or whatever one wants to call her). He is again shirking away from his responsibility by turning his back on her - resulting in proving Simran and more importantly her dad right yet again!! Does he think that leaving the house will solve his or Sia's problems??? Does not matter that Sia is a weird individual - She is his daughter!! And if he is soo concerned about her that he is afraid fo getting her married to "rapist" Sid, then stick with her and give her the support she needs now for crying out loud!! He should at least dissucss HIS grieveances with Sia before walking out of the house and say these are his reasons for doing so but that Sia always has his support! But what did Mr. Philosopher do? Just walk out saying nothing is working out. Shows his "maturity". As I have said before, he and his Dad-in-law make a pair!

Walking out is not a solution. This character seems to walk out every time a serious disagreement is in progress. Why can he not think of an alternative to express his thoughts and let Simran know that she needs to keep these things away from the dining table. Her father sure is a part of the family, but not a part of the couple.
