In Valmiki, Lakshman accompanied the horse, and faced w/ no opposition. All other accounts of the yagna have it that other than K-L, nobody tried capturing that horse. Padma Puran is the only one that has that anyone else captured it.
It's okay to show it, except that they've shown a contradictory titbit from a different Ramayan re: Bharat opposing the Rajasuya idea. That's what happens when one tries to make a khichri out of different Ramayans - the lack of consistency between any 2 incidents.
Exit question: is the usage of Padma Puran here, and Ananda Ramayan elsewhere, implication that Sagars want to show a temporal reunion between Sita and Rama?
