Proof: Match fixing in Indian Idol 2

Hey guys.... I'm sure everyone agrees with the fact that no one is satisfied with the results in any of the rounds of Indian Idol 2. Here is a strong observation I made today.

In today's DNA, Mumbai Edition (Tuesday, 3rd Jan 2006), there is an article on Indian Idol 2. The last line states that "Insiders reveal that two of the chosen 3 are from Kolkota" Not surprised yet? Read on.

The results were to be aired on Tuesday. To publish something in a newspaper, the interview has to be held on the previous day. Which means that the insiders' interview for the DNA article to be published on Tuesday, took place on Monday. That means, the statement made by the insiders, was actually made even before they aired the show on television on Monday.

Further, even if we extend the interview to midnight on Monday, it is impossible for an insider to make a comment like that because the voting closes at 9:30 am, and the counting can't be over till 10:30 am, by which time the papers were already printed, distributed and even read!!!! Then how could the so called "insiders" make a comment before the counting has even started?

Furthermore, I can understand Antara's and Meenal's inclusion in the top 12. But there was no reason why Jolly should have been there. Even after the results she sang horribly. How could Jolly possibly be chosen over Jyotsna?????? Your guess is as good as mine!

I have to mention that LEKHA has a different voice, and she sings really well too! The judges were heartbroken and shocked, to say the least, when they learnt that she was out. If there is a VOTE IN round, I'm sure Lekha will be in. I would not like my Indian Idol to have a stereotype playback singer's voice. I want him/her to be different and create an identity of her own.

I have decided to boycott Indian Idol by not watching it anymore, or vote for anyone, except for the VOTE IN round. Although the viewership does not get affected by one guy, but I hope people join me in boycotting the show so that such rigging does not take place again.

The DNA newspaper was trying to sensationalise things. As far as two bengali girls entry is concerned, Antara and Sandipa seemed favorites so they anticipated this and took the risk!!

Everyone knows anticipation is not useful in Indian Idol 2 anymore. After three weeks of hopeless results, only a fool would anticipate anything. And if an insider is anticipating results, I don't think he even deserves to be on the team!

hmmm - what you say is quite convincing... As far as I know the result episode is shot just a couple of hours before airing it.
If the show IS being fixed (which I am not ready to accept so easily ) - then they are just making us fools...

I totally agree with you abt LEKHA....if it was in my hand, I would have made her Indian Idol....she is really different and sings much better than many others

well...i somewhat agree with what u r saying abt FIXING OF SHOW but i guess the article in the paper was based on the voting pattern...i mean they would have seen the count by 12 midnight monday and according to that tally, two bengali girls would be coming...

its very difficult to say that such a show is fixed...but there is no denying that we all r shocked and even depressed with the results...

I'll watch the show, coz there are still some gud ppl in it....my vote is for AMEY

come on isnt saberri a bong girl?people would have not been this shocked had she been selected..no bongs in st and 3rd group.this is really not bcci.indian public voting is crazy. I thought lekha was great II material.she sat in the audience smiling so sweetly.my heart went out to her.so so unfair 😡 .

judges knew lekhas potential better than us,they should have sent a clear message-she is good.I blame the judges for not supporting LEKHA enough yesterday. 😔
