If you are pointing at who I think your pointing at, than that "starkid" did get critical acclaim for their performances. If someone is going to call you a "flop", it doesn't matter who you are, a star kid or just another outsider, you would not say "Yes I am a flop, I suck at acting, please kick me out." It's ok for someone to say how they made it on their own but when someone says "I am here because of my linage", that's wrong?

Plasticpolaroid, seriously, you think Bollywood would be a better place if all these "star kids" get out?

Let's see. If all the Star kids get out, just in the upcoming movies, we won't be able to see:

New York (Neil Niten Mukesh is a star kid, Katrina is here because of her famous boyfriend)
Kambakkht Ishq (Bebo is a star kid)
Life Partner (Fardeen is a star kid and so is Tusshar)
Kaminey (Shahid has some filmi background too)
Luck (Sanjay Dutt and Imran Khan are both star kids)
Love Aaj Kal (Saif is a star kid)
Main Aur Mrs. Khanna (Salman Khan, Bebo and Sohail Khan all star kids)
Dulha Mil Gaya (Fardeen Khan)
Wanted Dead Or Alive (Salman Khan)
Aladin (Sanjay Dutt and even Amitabh Bachchan has some sort of linage)
London Dreams (Ajay Devgan, Salman Khan)
What's your Raashee? (Harman Baweja)
Seaon's Greetings (Tabu, Sohail Khan)
Wake Up Sid (Ranbir Kapoor, Konkona Sen, Rahul Khanna all star kids)
Three Idiots (Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor)

That's 90% of the Bollywood movies for 2009. That's 90% of this year's gossip for Bollywood. Why bother come here to get amused and entertained on expense of these people and than say how you want them out?

^i don't know if you're not getting my point or you're just pretending not to? I didn't say they should all get out NOW.. the way Bollywood is, 95% of the people in it are star kids, so no one knows better.. so i am not saying they should all be banned from making movies now while a major recruitment for talent takes place.. that is illogical

but saying without nepotism Bollywood would be nothing is quite absurd.. who says if it wasn't a gated community there wouldn't be stars/actors/producers/directors/crews worth talking about?? i am sure bollywood would be way better as actors/crews etc would be chosen based on their merit..

and yeah there are some instances of star kids being worth the hype and "shock horror" having some talent.. but it is just wrong for these kids to act like they own the frikkin place and have a superiority complex and then diss on non industry actors then act like a total victims themselves..

Plasticpolaroid, but there's neptoism is in every field. And talking about people getting a chance the ones who have talent.....well it's not only because of star kids. Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure Aishwarya Rai didnt' have to take a "acting test" before she was casted. Neither was Priyanka Chopra because they "looked" the part. I know Deepika said, Farah casted her in OSO even before doing a screen test. So it's not like they got casted in their movies, because they were such fantastic actors. It was because they looked the part. So someone who is not as blessed with their looks as these beautiful ladies, but have much greater acting skills, and are not casted in movies, are you gonna blame Aishwarya, Priyanka and Deepika plus many others for being born so beautiful and how it's unfair for others???
