First of all I want to clear myself, I am not from West bengal but I am smelling a conspiracy by II. Why did sony put all 4 girls from kolkata in same round to compete for 3 places. They should balance it.

I don't know about a conspiracy but I agree with the balancin of the contestants. They should've put the Kolkata gals in the first piano round too and maybe split Ritu/ Renuka who r both from the Jabalpur area. I don't know why they did so.. Good oservation.. bye

If we keep aside the WB part of it and purely look from singing perspective, I think all the so called 'second best' singers were put in the 4th group, which is still out of my understanding. Contestants like Dilpreet and Ritu should have been included in the 4th group instead and Sabberi and Antara (no offence to both the singers)should have been in the 2nd group. At least, we would have had Dilpreet in the galas. How are these groups formed and the logic behind it is still a mystery.

The groups were definitely unbalanced. Funny part is that initially when the groups were formed, I thought that Group 4 was going to be the toughest and after Group 2 did so well, expectations from these girls were sky high. Everyone was raving about Antara and Lekha on this forum. Now I cant help feeling bad that instead of Jolly and Meenal, Ritu and Dilpreet would perhaps have had a shot at being in the galas. Even Renuka for that matter was awesome. Antara was deservedly the best yesterday but I feel Dilpreet outshone her hands down if we were to compare the two.

I think having 7 people vying for 3 spots with only 1 song to perform will always lead to bad results. The format is faulty. What they should have done is had more rounds in the Piano phase. i.e. have groups of 3 perform with 1 person being eliminated. Each time you do this until you have your final 12. The way to pair the groups should be based on how strongly (and weakly) the judges rated a contestant. Pair the strong contestents with not-so strong ones and move forward that way.
