The advantage Baichung had was that Sonia never stopped, she continued to push and encourage Baichung to do better and better. Irrespective of the votes, they continued to work on their dance and concept. This paid off ! Sonia worked well with Baichung abilities and limitations.
I don't think that the judges had any grudges against Karan. If Karan had gone from strength to strength in his dance, if Nicole had pushed him and given him more steps to do instead of herself, then it would have reflected in his performance. I am sure if that was the case, then definately the judges would have praised him inspite of his popularity. If the dance is totally improving, then why wouldn't the judges support Karan? Its totally human to feel angry towards a contestant or anyone in any field who isn't doing the best that he/she can and is still getting ahead.
At the end of the day, somewhere, the hard work and passion for dance decided the 1st and 2nd place!
