He wears it alot..I duno what it is..It might be a superstitious thing [maybe coz of nazar LOL but also some ppl believe tying a black thread on ur foot if ur foot hurts, helps it heal..n Karan did have a foot injury recently..so it could be that?]... but it might jus be an accessory

edit...Okay i just read the religious explanation, even i didnt know that LOL
