Flowers for Mother
Where everything looked so serene
To pick up a bunch of Lady's Lace
Delicate and wild on the Earth's face.
Blue bells bobbed and Snapdragons too
To colour lavishly with their hue
Violets and Forget-me-nots
Sprayed by nature quite a lot.
Jasmines, mogras and lilies pure
White as pearls and so demure
Buttercup and the daffodil
Brightness in my heart do fill
Chrysanthemums and carnations
Pink and sweet – are God's creations
Canna, gerbera and the marigold
Have colours on which your was sold.
You held me close and dispelled my fears
All these flowers are for you, my dear
I remember how you showered me with Love
That was silent and gentle like a sweet dove
Like my teardrops that slowly fall
You were my truest and best friend
So why did it all have to come to an end?
I'm sure when we'll meet once more
We'll laugh and talk like we did before
Now as I see these flowers so true
I see in them little images of you.
