Where are the big stars?
Narayani Shastri, who became a household name with Piya Ka Ghar, says, "I have taken a break from the hectic television schedule and spending time with my family. I am also taking some time out for myself."
However, if one goes by what the industry is saying, producers are now opting for new faces to avoid paying big bucks to famous names. When asked, Narayani chose not to comment on this.
Though many known faces are finding it difficult to get work in the industry, others have given small screen a miss to pursue Bollywood dreams. Hussain Kejriwal is one among them. "It's now or never for me. Since I have been around for quite some time, I am concentrating more on my Bollywood career now." he says.
Rakhi Tandon who enjoyed the limelight in the second season of Bigg Boss also says she is busy with films. "I am caught up with the films that I am producing. But it doesn't mean that I am bidding good bye to television. If something interesting comes my way, I will definitely go for it." Like Rakhi even Smriti Irani is concentrating more on her role as a producer rather than that of an actor. "Its not that I am not getting acting offers. It's just that my role as a producer is keeping me busy. Hence, I am not visible on small screen," says Smriti.
Well, whatever maybe the reasons behind the stars sudden disappearances, their fans are sure missing them.
