She seems to have taken the small screen by storm. Her portrayal of a typical school girl of today is a hit on Star One's Remix series. Delhi-girl Priya, who's fallen in love with Mumbai, thinks it's her attitude that's the hottest and most sizzling asset. ''I have that Lolita look! And its combination with the right attitude, portrays the youth of the times. No wonder, it works.''
Ask Priya how she landed in the telly world and she smiles, ''It happened quite by chance. In any case, I was already into modelling and got noticed by the right people. Things then moved at a fast pace and I got the role of Anvesha.'' Needless to say, Priya is happy with her role ''in a world saturated with family soaps. TV as a medium is evolving at a fast pace — and I'm lucky to be at the right place at the right time.''
The lady sure seems to identify with her role in the serial. And the accolades it's bringing along. ''TV gets you instant fame. It is such a 'now' world. And, as it is booming, it's creating stars in their own right.''
Ask her about the fan mail she gets and she laughs, ''Gawd! It sure can get embarrassing at times. Some of it is quite cute while for the rest — I'd rather not talk about it.''
And is she comfortable with the stylishly red-dyed tresses and school dress she has to don? ''Absolutely. After all, such hairstyles are doing the rounds these days. What we show in Remix is just a tip of the iceberg,'' she says. Do we see more of her on the telly? ''I think so. I have some more offers — for both TV as well as films, though I'm not too much too of a Bollywood person.'' Her dream role? ''A movie from the cross-over genre.'' Quiz her about item numbers and she smiles, ''They're fine but not for me. I'm not an item girl.'' Till a crossover happens, stay glued for this gal on Remix.
