| the line of control has become red hot. there is a huge rush of adrenalin which is pushing the contestants to limits never thought or heard of. it's not about versatility or perfection any more. it's now about competition. from bollywood salsa to hanging mid air from a ring; from putting oneself in flames to balancing from a rope… the rush to outperforming each other is no more restricted to the contestants but has also seized the mentors as well. when salman's fiery chau act garnered him maximum number of votes, fire became the benchmark for the others as well. let alone the boys, it even caught the fascination of the girls . salman ghouse of bangalore says, 'i still feel i haven't done enough!!! the praise and the appreciation are so overwhelming that i have no qualms in pushing my limits."
salman adds, 'i was severely reprimanded by the channel after a couple of my acts, although they were outstanding. if i don't have a problem risking my life, why is it a cause of worry for the others?" such are the sentiments of a young blood. the channel is doing its required bit and taking the necessary precautionary measures but isn't it the responsibility of the mentors to control these adrenalin junkies from senseless acts. a glorifying example in this context would be mangesh mondol. the insecurity bug bit him so hard that his senseless stunt landed him with a bloodied fractured hand. salman's slithered toe had blood trickling down during the performance whereas siddheshe's fourth five kilogram kathakali costume caused him to loose consciousness. says grandmaster mithun da, "everytime i see these kids doing all these terrible stunts i hold my breath and cross my fingers. i have told them innumerable times, that in the bid to win the competition they should not risk their lives. there are still about six to seven weeks left for the show to get over. i don't know what else they will show me. i just pray that they are in one piece when they return home after the show." it's time to hit the panic button if the mentors do not pull the reins of these youngsters. their enthusiasm is contagious but it's for the adults to draw the line where it needs to be drawn. all we can say is may the best man / woman win!!!!!
