Prologue…
"I never knew that someone's mistake can cost you your life… Pia, why did you do this?" I thought to myself while I sat in the flight to Mumbai from City next to Mt. Abu.
Flashback
"Pia, where are you?" I heard my auntie shouting for Pia everywhere inside the house. Pia is my best friend and today she is getting married to her father's business rival Jai Walia. I've heard that Jai Walia is known for his business knowledge in society even around the world. Also many people call him "Jai Walia the Great" or "Business Tycoon Jai Walia" but I do not understand why Pia is getting married to her father's business rival. I feel like Mamaji and Mamiji are hiding something from me and my sister Rano. My sisters are my soul along with my childhood friend Shiv Kapoor (Jay Bhanushali). I can never dream of living far away from my sister or my childhood friend Shiv. Many friends of mine and Pia say that I and Shiv share a much deep relationship than just friendship. Maybe they are right! But right now I have to help Mamaji find Pia or else there will be another mahabharat will start any moment from now.
"Mamaji, what's wrong?" I asked my Mamiji with concern filled in my voice.
"Bani have you scene Pia around anywhere lately. Barat will be arriving any time and Pia is no where inside the house. I've checked everywhere inside the house" I interrupted my Mamiji by saying "Mamiji, have you checked Pia's favorite place in Mt. Abu or inside our haveli?"
"Nope" Mamiji shook her head. I assured Mamiji that I'll bring Pia back before the Barat comes. Mamiji took a deep breathe of relief of her problems and I started looking for Pia everywhere inside the Haveli.
"Pia… Pia" I started shouting inside the outhouse (where we usually hide whenever we want to run away from our problems in life). "Pia, where are you? Mamiji is worried for you. Pia this isn't a time to play hide n seek." I shouted my lungs out but I got no response in return. I looked through many rooms inside the outhouse but no sign of Pia. I was about to leave the outhouse when I came across a letter beside Gunno Bhaiyya idol (Lord Ganesha). I picked up the letter and I started to read it. I was devastated to know that Pia ran away with Pushkar. Pushkar is Pia's childhood friend and maybe more according to what I know, but I never thought that Pia would go this far and that too on her wedding day. How will Mamaji and Mamiji react to this news? How will they face society of Mt. Abu and their business rival Jai Walia? All these questions flooded into my minds. I heard my Mamaji asking Mamiji where is Pia? How can I tell them that their daughter ran away? But I had to tell them. I walked toward them but I stopped when I heard my Mamaji telling Mamiji that they are suffering from a major loss in business recently and plus they can not afford to pay for the loan they have taken from Jai Walia. I was shock to know all this and now some what things are making sense to me - why Mamaji wanted to get Pia married to their business rival in first place.
"Bani where is Pia?" Mamiji asked me. I couldn't even meet their eyes when I told them not to worry because Pia is in the outhouse.
"What is she doing in the outhouse?" Mamaji asked me.
"She wanted to be alone for few minutes and also she asked me to bring her bridal wear inside the outhouse" I told them after lowering my eyes from their eyes. I couldn't even believe myself for lying to them. But how could I tell Mamaji and Mamiji that Pia ran away leaving them to face humiliation in front of their business rival. I just couldn't tell them. Mamiji gave me Pia's bridal wear.
I waited hours and hours thinking of what to do. I can hear the Barat have arrived. I stood their looking at the Barat arrive from the window. I saw Mamiji welcoming the groom and his family with a warm aarti. Fear was taking me up. Any moment Mamiji can come to call Pia and than what will I tell her.
Narrator's voice… Frustration took over Bani while she thinks of a way from getting out of this mess which Pia left behind. She couldn't tell her Mamaji and Mamiji because she heard them talking in their room about their business loss and the loan they barrowed from their business rival.
Let's leave Bani alone to figure out how she is going to get out of this mess without reveling that Pia ran away.
Look over there…
(Nishikant leads Jai toward the mandup)
Jai hates himself for giving Nishikant a loan and top of that for signing the agreement. If Nishikant couldn't pay for his loan he barrowed from Jai within three months than his daughter will marry him without any expectation from him but he can accept anything from his daughter and she will not complain one bit.
Narrator's voice… Nishikant knew he was putting his own daughter down for a deal over his niece. He could have easily put his niece Bani down over the deal, but than how will he face his sister who left her daughter in his trust and love. Helpless Nishikant signs over his daughter and now he is paying for his each word he spoke at the moment while signing the agreement with his business rival Jai Walia.
Now how is Bani going to get out of this one… because just now the Pandit asked for the bride?
