Big Bollywood concerts shelved due to recession?
Even the biggest stars are affected by the recession, leaving major Bollywood concerts either been postponed or put on hold. Here are some of the largest planned events that are yet to see the light of day.
The huge concert, that was planned to feature the Bachchan family, the Rock On cast and Hritrik Roshan, was supposed to take place on December 7, 2009 but was cancelled due to the Mumbai terror attacks. After that, there has been no news of a reschedule. The official spokesperson from Wizcraft, the company organising the event, says, "Nothing is planned as yet so it's very difficult to say when the concert will go on the floors. The current scenario has made us rethink the concert. However, it is too early to make any comments about this."
After the successful Unforgettable world tour, the Bachchan family announced they would be touring big cities in India. The first leg was set to cover the four metros: Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Kolkata, followed by other large cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The concerts would feature the same star lineup as the world tour did, including Amitabh, Abhishek, Aishwarya, Preity Zinta and Riteish Deshmukh. A source from the tour says, "We are still in the process of finalising the exact dates for the concert. The dates will be declared soon.
