If they did that, they'll stop the serial or they'll change the whole plot and write new stories for the new characters... and it won't be Simran & Abhi's story any more.. 😉

but frankly speaking, i really hope they reunite. As it is, after the leap, the focus will b on the next generation and hopefully simran
