Sony Entertainment Television, or what is now known as Multi-Screen Media, has bought the rights of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? from Sony Pictures Television, its Japanese parent that currently holds the rights to the show. So, if and when the next season happens, get set to watch KBC on Sony, and not Star Plus.

Star India has reportedly not renewed its contract with Sony Pictures for another season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).

Interestingly, Multi-Screen Media has also bagged the TV rights of Slumdog Millionaire (both Hindi and English) from Fox Star Studios India for five years. The film can be aired in Indian TV after six months.

Anil Kapoor, who plays the anchor of KBC in the film, might be approached to be the the anchor for the next season. But this news has not been confirmed.

Who do u prefer as the next host of KBC? I would love to c Sallu as host
