well like most ppl said above, it basically depends on the families,
and taking akshara's case into consideration, well she is a small town girl from a very prestigious, family that still follows the old traditions from like 1970s, and yes 8 pm isnt that late, but i remember my mom telling me, that the latest time she was allowed to be out was 7pm in india. and i was like WTH.. loll😲

Well..the show being set in a small town of Udaipur, and the family being portrayed as a super orthodox one, this is expected.

Hmmm,
Here is what i feel!!

Akshara is overprotected but there are many girls who are born and broughtup that way...its not about not trusting a daughter its just about protecting her....

I don't think this is a culture shock...In a small town like Udaipur, most of the people know each other and a girl alone , at such a time in night does creates a fear....I don't know about other places but in India, most of the cities and small towns are not safe for girls....parents tend to worry....
Akshara's parents were worried bec. 1)her father saw her with a boy 2) she promised to return before the evening but she didn't

indiann parenttttsss my mommmm!!!!! seriouslyyy im little buttt therr iss no privacyyy andddd im not evenn allowed to go out that longg but i liv in the u.s and therr is more kidnapping andd otherr things going on herree anddd i knoee akshara got in trouble 4 coming home at 8 if it was 12 thats anotherr thing but 8 o clockk is nuthingg and shes old enough-natashaaa
