Why don't you like Yashita?

I think she is good singer in her genre, and I am supporting her for second place in this contest and Vaishali being first.

But why don't you guys like Yashita, is it because she has presented herself as youth icon, or her singing, her personality? What?

I think most of you have problem with her versatility, but i think she can sing very well in her genre which is fast/peppy songs.
Or maybe she has not connected very well with the audiences by adding western variations into her singing?

So why don't you like her and if you do, u r welcome to give your justifications as well.

I do like her and im happy that she is in Top 3 ... as i always wanted to have Yashita , Pratibha and Vaishali in Top 3 Finale ... after Zaheer Exit

but surely she needs to do some fine tuning on her singing aspects ... which she will surely do as she is only 18 ... so in near future she can work on her weakness ... and her Voice quality has kept her alive in the show .

Her singing does not have substance...has nothing to do with her connecting with youth and not connecting with older generation...

First things first --- I don't have anything personal against her. So whatever my opinion is, is obviously based off of what is shown on TV. Now be that right or wrong, I don't know.

The reason I don't like Yashita is because like you said her lack of versatility. She can only sing upbeat numbers that please the crowd. Her strength is in the booty-shaking, head bangin', english "rapping" upbeat numbers, that lack melody and good singing. And I don't even think that her singing is extraordinary, the only reason people like her so much, is because of the way she portrays herself on TV. Her in-your-face, hot Mumbai girl attitude turns people on because quite honestly, most girls in India don't behave that way (from what I've seen in reality shows).

From how I see it, she comes across as extremely fake, the person who she triest to be --- it ain't her. That's the fake, vote garnering "Yashita" that Zee has created to increase their revenue. I did see the real Yashita once though --- I saw her in that AV in the Aamir Khan special where she talks about her brother being sent away to a hostel, THAT'S who the real Yashita is. That came across as very natural to me --- and how she acts on stage just seems very unnatural and forced.

However, I gave her the benefit of doubt. Not liking one's personality is not a reason to not like their singing or to not support them --- and I really do believe that. However, if you take out her booty-shakin' performances, and just listen to the audio of the song, there's nothing catchy there. Its only because she "performs" on stage that people are so awed by her.

^^ lol i don't think she is 18, she is much older. but yes she has a good voice quality, as every judge has said it. she just needs to improve her surs n stuff well that's what the judges say, but to me she's fine, only voice matters to most audience, we can't pick out where they went wrong in their surs and tals.

she has very good voice quality................i definitely see myself listening to any song that she would ever sing from bollywood movies because i do like listening to item songs...........hopefully she gets a
chance..................however from a singing contest standpoint....its very vital that the contestant should be versatile which she clearly isn't.

Basically her lack of versatility. The type of songs she sings just don't appeal to me. Especially if she does it all the time. There's not much "gayaki" to show off in those songs, especially on a show like SRGMP. And as WA and Varshadi said, she has her flaws as well when it comes to technicality. I don't think she should have been in the finals because I felt others who have been eliminated were better.

I have nothing against her personality. She seems friendly.

maybe because i haven't seen her performances before the top five, but i didn't see her doing much with western variations. but she did add rap in some songs. but i guess that's her personality/attitude maybe she does like staying that way. n u said that you shouldn't judge a person on their personality.

but i think every contestant has their own unique styles in which they feel comfortable in to perform.
if OBJ was in there we would expect him too be talking aabout rafi saab all the time😆 or singing his songs.

but i think the real problem that you guys don't like her is because she doesn't represent an ideal Indian girl, and that she is a wannabe (u said this i can quote you for this anju😆). But if she was in american idol I am sure most of you would have liked her, because the booty and the dancing is expected from the contestants.

Woh Ajnabee ... agreed ... Versatility is an issue for her .. and she needs to work on it ... and to be honest ... only Pratibha Zaheer and Soumen seemed natural to me in whole Sa Re Ga Ma Pa ... this year ... i guess this year it was more concentrated on Trps then ever before ... this year Sa Re Ga Ma Pa ... was worst which Oonth ko Danda kiss ne mara se le kar Be Tuki Shayari and with Stupid Stories around | and i agree with u her personality is a not wat is shown on Tv ... in real she has a loving personality .

But she needs to do alot of work on her singing in order to compete at the highest level and not just doing road side shows after this show ends
