10. Jannat
The Bhatts are known for making films that perform brilliantly at the Box Office and this did just that. Emraan Hashmi has a cult following and could one day become the greatest actor in Bollywood history (if things go his way).
09. Sarkar Raj
Many thought this second coming of the gangster saga starring father and son duo Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan would become a massive hit in 2009… but that was not to be. Critics panned it but the addition of Mrs. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was just about enough for it to get a berth in our elusive end of the year Top 10.
08. Bachna Ae Haseeno
In 2007 he debuted with the flop Saawariya but in 2008 youngster Ranbir Kapoor defied his critics and produced a solid performance of comedy, drama and music. The inclusion of three hot babes also helped.
07. Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na
A new star was born and no one denied that. Imran Khan was here to stay as his first ever movie role got the audience rushing to theatres. This nephew of perfectionist Aamir Khan is one actor to watch out for.
06. Jodhaa Akbar
Made on an epic scale, the people behind this Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan starrer were expecting a much better response from the audience then what it got. But there were five much better films made in 2008, hence it sits at number 6.
05. Race
Action, thrills, comedy, sex and drama… everything you would want to be entertained with and that is what you got. Saif Ali Khan packed out a punch and the babes Bipasha and Katrina got tounges out. A must watch flick of 2008.
04. Ghajini
Released a week before the end of the year, this Aamir Khan revenge thriller is expected to be feautured in next year's (2009) list of Top 10 also, as much more moolah is yet to be earned.
03. Dostana
The most provocative film of the year and also the most entertaining. A different story and likeable characters helped this Karan Johar produced comedy becom the third best film of 2008.
02. Singh Is Kinng
Last year he ruled the end of the year charts, with four top flick, but in 2009 it was a different story. Akshay Kumar had only one film to talk about and this was it. But, once again as it was last year, Akki missed out on the number one slot… to a Mr. Khan.
01. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
They don't call him King Khan for nothing… Shah Rukh Khan can turn around a silly script and badly directed film into the biggest of the year. And that is what he did with this comedy romance. Aditya Chopra wrote the film while he was asleep and directed it probably in a matter of days but it didn't stop the fans of the King from making it the best film of 2009! Long live SRK!
Do you agree with the list of the best of 2008 films, according to our Tony… do you think he got the slots right… or is he wrong and Shah Rukh's Rab Ne… should not be the best flick of 2008… whatever your views we would love to read them… please use the comments section below to send them to us.
